I would buy a set if they were done/upholstered and 4k but to be perfectly honest, I don't want to be at all responsible for having them made, would just want to buy them :)

(and would be surprised if it could be completed at that price point)

Great find! Now we can see all the misc mechanisms. Now at least we know what's involved. Problem is... Who knows if any of this is even in stock and in what quantity.

Look at the prices for the misc plastic pieces I was referring to. #10 and #14. However, these pieces can be made out of cf for alot less.

Bracket #13 $350. These brackets are adding up to $600-700.

Can anyone confirm if the "guide" ($380) is the same one we already have on our cars?

I just emailed Ultra Carbon to see if they are interested in making the shells and approx cost.

Hardest part here will be finding originals to pull molds from. Not sure what to do about sizing because I definitely do not need XXL :)

Ultra carbon would do it but looking to be very expensive. Here is there response-

    Jim,

Yes, I would be interested in such a project with a minimum number of seats purchased in advance. I can give you a broad range of price that we should fit inside of, but in order to give you a firm price, I would need a lot more information. First, I would need to see detailed pictures of the seats on all sides without upholstery. I would also need to know if the molds I produce would be my property, or would you want to own the molds once completed. The minimum number of sets produced along with who owns the completed molds will determine what I charge for the mold work.

If the seats are different from left to right, then I would need to create at least eight molds to build the seats, four for each seat, two uppers and two lowers to create a clamshell. It could be simple and slightly time consuming to produce the eight molds, or it could be extremely difficult and intensely time consuming to produce them. I really need to see what they look like in person or in detailed photos before I can begin to give an educated guess on pricing.

For something like this, we would need a commitment to produce at least 10 sets from these molds at a minimum, to make the mold making process worthwhile. As far as a range of price, I can tell you that we would probably be at least $2000 a seat, but could be as much as $4000 a seat, depending on the difficulty of the design and technical necessity of the layup.

If you'd like to discuss this further, you're welcome to call me any time at 253-906-8126.

$2k isn't that bad. $4k would be bad.

Some more info from Ultra Carbon. (I sent him the link to the seats currently on ebay) Anyone have pics of these with no covers?

"Jim, What's interesting is that the first pics you sent me are of seats done in a plain weave. The ebay ling are seats done in a twill weave. You don't usually see manufacturers changing weave composition on the same parts. If I had to guess, I would say that one of those sets of seats is either a fake, or Ferrari sourced the seats from different manufacturers somewhere mid-run. Not that it matters, just something I find interesting because you don't usually see it.

Based on the better pics, I think I can narrow it down that we probably aren't near the higher spectrum of that pricing on the seats. Possibly $2000-$3000. I still need to see them without upholstery to narrow it down any further.

Jim. I would like to see the picture you senf him of the seats in plain weave carbon. He is correct. I've only seen these seats in Twill Weave Carbon.

Also tell him the seats need to either be Conolly leather or a pretty damn close match. Our leather is pretty unique and just sourcing your typical leather isn't going to give you the most authentic feel.

I'm assuming his quote doesn't include all the reclining mechanisms?

His quote is just for the shells. We would need to get the rest. (upholstery and mechanisms).

These are the other two pics I sent him-

That's a nice color scheme. I need to do that with mine to break up all the blue.

Tan cf seat is seriously growing on me. Originally, I wanted to to change the interior color to black/red like my old one. I think tan/black actually is sweeter.
I wasn't thinking $2k for each seat.. $8k is bad, very bad.

Interesting. I can't see the 2nd link. My assumption is this version in 3k Plain Weave is a very late run production. Probably 1999. I never liked the seats in Twill Weave carbon as all the other CF bits for the car from the Fiorano package is all in plain weave. The carbon in the more modern Ferraris is all in plain weave as well. I am assuming they switched to match every other cf bit for the car.

Those seats are not looking so bad anymore $$$$

Supply and demand, YOu want to play you have to pay.

These prices are going up on parts and not down. You want them now is the time to cough up the $$$$$

Were not driving old Chevy's :)

I would like the carbon ones but actually like the stock seats very much as well (so no way I would feel good about dropping 10k on a set).

I will assume all B and GTS cars have manual seat adjustment controls ?
So all the CF sets are in those two models ?
I actually passed on a yellow 95 with CF seats ( I know)
But having a spider with electric seats and all that electronic crap attached to the top operation would make this a very expensive IF not impossible switch from stock.

    10k is absurd

5k for a set is reasonable considering you can get better seats for less than that as it is.

I think we all agree $10k absurd. Not to mention you buy $10k seats and most likely you'd have to reupholster it to make it perfect.
If we can reproduce it for $5k the seats will be brand new and to the owners specs.
Also, I think it's safe to say with the thread we made sure we will never see these seats available for below $10k:(
I agree with Ken on the leather. If I'm gonna spend $5k for replica seats it has to be top notch.
Another option would be Glen @ exotic car gear/nouvalari. Glen is good guy and an enthusiast. I spoke to him briefly and he said he could possible have his people make the mold for us. He needs pics and dimensions. Anyone have the dimensions?
We have close to 10 already. I'm sure we could attract more once it becomes reality.
So, who is leading the charge?
    Ken?
    James?
