Keep the stories coming :)
Almost lost this thread! They're really cool and if you do end up scanning any of them please share. Sent from my KitKat using Tapatalk
Never raced or made any public appearances though ... so where did this "theory" come from please? Pete
It was published by Autosprint at the time and if memory serves me right may have been mentioned in R&T. This site, for example, makes reference to it but is in Italian: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_312_T3 Also, not a "theory" and there was a public appearance (public enough to get scooped at least) as detailed here: http://www.f1grandprix.it/speciali/640/cambio%20elettroidraulico/storia%20del%20cambio%20elettronico.htm
Anyone care to elaborate? Barnard era... Have fun. Look at design closely, there're plenty of good solutions to look at. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a *beautiful* piece of machining! And assembled parts come to that; Three tapered drive pins (to get 'er lined up) & three solid to take "most" of the loads. While the anodizing looks cool, I'm a little surprised they didn't leave it "bare" - Much easier to find any cracks - Unless they routinely xray the suckers I guess (?) There's a *lot* of force going thru' that thing! Again, thanks for posting. You're not finding these bits in your "decrepit barn" are you?! Cheers, Ian
Probably not anodizing. Part would have to be steel, titanium or some other very hard metal to act as a CV joint. Paul
BTW, just noticed this thread garnered "thread of the month" honors in Rob's latest newsletter! Good job Bengalfed! Cheers, Ian
Actually, looking at it again, I'm now seeing what you're seeing! It could well be a rear! Sorry! If so, how'd they get that finish? Cheers, Ian
Back to the 641/642, just finished the Hasagawa F189 High Induction F1 (1990 release) 1/24 kit, so these drawings are serendipitous. Thanks! BTW, Krylon 9112 Cherry Red is a close "off the shelf" match for the red for the red of this era in MHO.
