You saw it on eBay. A Mondial 6 (red). Auction ended with a high bid of $35,000.00 but reserve was not met.

I believe there is interest for a 3.2 coupe. There is a silver 1986 coupe available thru www.shoppok. 50,000 miles, engine-out service (timing belts, etc) done within the past 3,000 miles, custom exhaust, re-built AC. In the L.A. area. Asking $28,500. No affiliation to car and/or seller.

I've said this before. Only in the Ferrari world is 2500 miles per year considered "high miles".

While these cars do require more care and feeding, driving them is the best thing. It keeps them young. Just look at David's 3.2 Prugna coupe, which has gotten better with driving.

    Regards,
    Jerry

If it's the one I'm thinking of, that listing is from last year. Cool car though...

Very clean but I prefer black to grey. Curious to see what it sells for on eBay.

Not yet. He has it back from the shop now (unfortunately the A/C wasn't repaired). I'm planning to see it on Thursday Evening.

Well said Sid. You can make the trek from Plano, my former home, to McKinney to see my 1900 mile 92 348 anytime, and I'll even make the vroom vrooom sound for you.

However, I purchased my first Ferrari early this year. No need to make Vroom-vroom noises now! Although, with the recent heat, I haven't been driving her very much. The AC works great, until the outside temp goes over 100.

It's my first FCAR, but it won't be my last. Always wanted a TR. If those cars keep going up in value, I may just be tempted to get a "project" TR. Then, I'll be sure to spend lots of time in the garage making engine noises!

All, any more info on this car? I saw on another thread that a member was looking at this car.

That looks great and very tempting depending price. However, I meant way over to the other side, some may say the dark side dare I mention .... the P word. Maybe your keeping me going with this option, but my passion is the coupes.

I thought the "dark side" was the cabriolet! :)

This cab looks pretty nice, interesting interior color. Didn't know factory would do blanco.

Absolutely worth checking out. While I prefer a coupe, a cab is not exactly a bad backup plan!

Nothing wrong with a P car, but it is just not a replacement for, it would be in addition to, a Mondial IMHO.

    Jerry

The darkside is an offspring of a VW Beetle!

LOL! Just Kidding. Some of the most fun I ever had was driving a late 80's turbo.

Also - I have 2 distant Porsche relatives that are a blast - Karmann Ghias (67 vert and 74 coupe).

    Sid

P.S - did I mention that I was just kidding.

That's what I thought as well!

Plus, being passionate is typically associated with Italian cars so the dark side is reserved for Ghini Guys. ;)

Still, unless one has a lot of spare change I'd hold out for a nice Mondial. There's absolutely no comparison to any Porsche.

But Dom, as Sid said, a Porsche can be fun.

    Hi Jwash,

I was scheduled to look at the car last week but passed after conversations with the owner (nice guy by the way!). After considering the number of miles on the car, a pending major service within a year or so, and a few needed repairs, I decided that the ask was higher than I was willing to spend. By the time everything was addressed on top of the purchase price, it would have been better to go with Tman's T Coupe in Colorado that's had pretty much everything done to it and is fully sorted.

Was the ask a take it or leave it? Most have a little room for negotiation.

    But may be just me..........

    Hi Jerry,

Yes, the seller was willing to negotiate but not to where I felt it needed to be to make sense. Feel free to PM if you would like more details, but I'd prefer not to erode their price position with a public post.

    Thanks!

    Mike
