Is it safe to say that a very solid fully restored Daytona Condition around a '2 to 2+' would not be had for less than $1million USD at this point?
    Thanks everyone . f40carlo

I think thats too high for a 2+ car. having spent the last year watching prices on 60s-70s V12s before our buying mine, I think I have a good feel for the market. Then again, I was at the RM auction in amelia where a gated 599 sold for stupid money, and watching them bid it up was not only exciting, but an eye-opener. as its always said, the truth is your car is worth what someone will pay. A few years ago, the Daytona spyder my wife's uncle bought new in 1973 went for sale- still had 3.2K miles on it, original everything, and I really wanted to re-own the car- it likely would have been one of a few "all original still owned by same family" but i just thought (incorrectly) the asking price was too high. it sold quickly. its likely doubled since then, so you never know. If no one wants to sell their daytona because they think the price will keep rising,, and supply is down, you might be able to. I hope you do!

Ummm, I don't think you would have any trouble finding a nicer Daytona for much less than $1M. Check out anamera for a quick survey of 43 cars for sale worldwide, many for much less. Sounds like a "driver" restored car would be around $700K to me, possibly less.

8 months ago a few Daytona's trades for $555-650k at auction. Today the prices are not much higher with average drivers starting at $650k with the best selling in the $900k range.

So you're saying prices at the low end have gone from$550L to $650K today (+20%) & the high end has gone from $650K to $900K (+40%) in 8 months and "today the prices are not much higher". Really? Sarcasm I hope...

Wrong I just said that 8 months ago and through out till today there were quote a few cars that sold in the $555-650k range. Not that there were not much higher priced ones that also traded. Today I don't see them dipping less than $650k with most in the $750-800k range. Very few have sold for close to $1mm.

Very few Daytonas will bring $950-1mm. I know of a couple of cars in that range. One with just 5k original miles. That prototype may bring a big number. What auction house is selling it?

The cars at Autosport Designs have seem to have sold, the current market seems to be. $700 -800 for a driver and 1- 1.2 m for a top notch car. It seems the disparity is much greater with boxers. MG and CNC are asking close to $900 k for cars that a car with 5-10k and in great condition seem to sell for $350. Continental Autosport have a nice 83 with $66k worth of work for $399. So we will see very soon what some nice cars will bring.

You can add the RHD Plexi sold by Coys for a commission inclusive £765k a few weeks ago. That about $1.1m I believe although a RHD Plexi is a rare combination.

BTW is there really a need for three separate threads on Daytona prices /values at the moment?

Can you please clarify your decimal points? Are you saying there is a Daytona at Gooding with a $6.5 million low estimate, or a $650k low estimate?

6.5 is $650 k I assumed from the previous post the cars are going between $650k -$1.2 mil. That is in line with the Auction estimates.

Yes,there are a number of threads running, but the results of ALL the Fcars in August will be very interesting. Personally,I think any top job Daytona is now worth $1M. Over the pond,we want RHD versions of any 60s - 80s cars,Dino upwards, and because of that, limited production numbers, they carry a premium. That premium could be 10%....could be more.,by the way,if the Japs come into the market, then they will push up the value of the right hookers.

I want to know why not? I hear all the same reasons. Number made yada yada yada. All of that may be valid until it happens. Then all that goes away. Markets are interesting. I remember the 288s being around 200 or less way back in 2001, and the reasoning goes like, "Well, some think they look too much like the 308..whatever. Same with many of the others. I was not a fan until I drove one, then I became a believer. Then-cut off back, wedge shape. Not beautiful like a 275. Now-what a cool car. Nothing else looks like that. Seems like this may be an undervalued true Ferrari Classic?

No. That's too much. I know of a #1/1- Daytona cp someone can have for $875k. No issues, tool kit, fresh mechanicals.

Depends; the black Gooding car is about $140k more of what it sold for at Bonhams last year (the could be some variation with exchange rates as I haven't checked what they were back then). Based on the catalogue description it has obviously had some money spent on it since then but would still expect the vendor to be ahead.

The Blue RM car and Oro Gooding car do seem at the low end of their estimates but that seems to reflect a lot of the sales at Monterey in general not just Daytonas.
