Haas shortlist 'down to five'
There was a suggestion somewhere not long ago that whilst Force India would like to retain Hulk there are moves from Mercedes to place Wehrlein - which might free Hulk to go to Haas unless Manor pick up Wehrlein along with Mercedes engines
Has anybody noticed that Pastor seems to be doing a lot of media spin lately? My F1 news feed has had a number of articles in the past few days about how he feels as if he's being picked on and reminding folks that he won the Spanish GP a few years ago... It sounds to me like he's trying to sell himself in ways that he never had to before.
+100. What would be his incentive to move from Force India to Haas? After winning LeMans his stock is at its peak. This silly season looks to be a boring one since all the bigger seats are pretty much taken. Hulk unfortunately can only see Raikonnen retire to move up. Williams (pretty much) locked Red Bull locked Mercedes locked Ferrari locked (depends on Raikonnen) McLaren (not) locked, but that won't necessarly mean moving up until 2017.
Haas targets driver signing by September from shortlist of 10 drivers Soon we will know. Should be interesting!
Now that Raikkonen has been confirmed, the rest of the grid is going to be pretty much lock and key... There are no places to move up.
No clue. Haven't really followed their whole story to be very honest. They're in a tight fight for 5th in the constructors which will bring a lot of money..
It's great that The Hulk will have a ride for the next two seasons but I was hoping for better-possibly Renault. I'm afraid that he will become another almost front line driver never to win a GP.
Good list. I like Vergne and think he is a really good driver. That being said, I don't know how marketable a French driver is in the US. Gutiérrez is extremely marketable due to the large hispanic population in the US, the popularity of F1 in Mexico, and the fact he is young with real experience. Plus he is already in the Ferrari family. It's also a great way for Ferrari to get him more seat time and involve him in development if they actually see a real future for him. I have to believe there is a strong likelihood he will be on the team. I think Hulk is a solid driver also, but is the most expensive person on the list.
Both very good drivers. I like Pagenaud, and he drives my favorite livery in Indy (blue PPG), but how popular/marketable are he and Bourdais really? I don't know...honest question.
