I've done a search for this info but haven't found the complete answer.

Most posts say 7x16 on front and 8x16 on rear. Somebody even managed to fit 355 10 inch on the rear.

My question is will 8x16 BBS fit on the front?

It would all depend on the offset.

I can definitely attest that offset is extremely important down to a few mm +/- . I stayed with 7s and 8s when I got 17s because its close all around and didn't want to have to mess with it

With no other modifications (like smaller coil-over spring diameters)? Or are you just running massive spacers and increasing the rear track width?

No spacer and with Stock kinis on both front and rears. Here's a photo I took from top of the rear wheel, you can see the gap and I'm running 255/40/17

Do you know the offset of that rear wheel you are using? (It must be a fairly large negative offset.)

What about at the outside? Is the tire sidewall protruding beyond the fender lip?

Not sure about the offset as I bought this used that was mounted on a TR but here's a pic from the back side of the car.

    Hey Steve,

My rears have a 15mm offset. I'm running QA-1's and have about a 1/4" clearance to the spring. I went with 255/40's just to make sure that I would clear. With this setup, the rim actually sticks out about 5mm further than the tire. Next time I'm probably going to go with 265/40's. I did have a slight bit of rubbing on the very bottom of the front of the fender liner. I was going to trim the liner, but ended up just letting it rub and wearing down on its own...that's how minimal it was. The outer is just about flush with the fender...I'll try and post up some pix later or give me your email and I'll send them to you directly.

My fronts have a 20mm offset and I'm using a 5mm spacer. It didn't rub, but using the spacer brought the outer edge out to be flush with the fender. I'm running 225/45's.

BTW Mike, pretty sure that your rears are 9"...never heard of Compomotives in a 9.5", unless these were custom made.

Your initial post was a misleading IMO -- "oh yeah, 10 inch no problem" ;) Just wanted to let the OP know that "possible" and "easy bolt on" can be two vastly different things. Your approach (with the much smaller diameter QA-1 spring diameter) almost has to be part of the project to use 10" rears.

Even miketuason's response shows some serious change is needed just to get to 9~9.5" rear wheels (when using the larger stock spring diameter) -- even though he isn't using a physically separate spacer, the "spacer" is just built into the wheel itself, and he has increased the rear track width.

Really??? Where did I say "oh yeah, 10 inch no problem"???

His question was would a 8" fit on the front...and as I and others have said, it is doable. And, as you can see, I am more than willing to share my findings with others...

Wasn't meant as a harsh criticism, just a reminder that you left out some information -- "I'm running 8.5" fronts and 10" rears", but I've also installed QA-1s which have a smaller spring diameter than stock.
