Most likely too much rallycross on the exit of Les Combes yet again! - He's been doing it all day, both in FP3 and qualifying!

I predict at least 2 eye-rolls from Nico during press conference...

Agreed, but surely not to the tune of 1+ seconds, no?

You didn't imagine it - Grosjean has a 5 place grid penalty for a gearbox change.

He does that when there is an eyelash of difference between their cars. Half a sec is pretty big.

I think he'll be focused on jumping LH at the start (which Ham will be very aware of)

Depends on how much of the countryside he was using on the lap! ;)

True. 3 tenths would have put him P3.

Seb and Sainz were the only drivers who did not improve on their Q2 times. Not certain what happened there.

STill, his car was a good 4 tenths faster than the williams so he lost a fair chunk on where he shouldve been

Just watched Lewis' pole lap replay; Very, very, impressive stuff.

Great side-by-side replay of the two on Sky.

Looking at that pole lap replay, Hamilton was VERY smooth through sector two. Not a lot of braking going into corners and nailed the apex perfectly in each.

The cars don't have an inspiring engine note, but they can move very quickly.

Agree. Showed total trust in his car going through the corners. Impressive to drive that way twice and improve significantly on what I thought was an incredible lap.

Wow what a lap from Lewis. Ros nowhere. What happened to Vet? Looks loke McLaren were right- Ferrari seem to have detuned their engine to Honda levels of power... :(

Absolutely agree with your observation. It makes me think that, more than anything else, Merc have mastered the seamless blending of the engine, energy recovery and energy release form the PU. Even cars with otherwise good chassis can be upset by abrupt or uneven transitions form harvest to spend when poorly integrated with the engine. Getting ALL of the components of the PU to work in a balanced fashion seems to be the key, and Merc have got it under control.

He faded in Q3...any amount of improvement would have put him in third (he was only .28 off from Bottas) but his Q3 time was slower than what he posted in Q2. Not certain what happened there, but I expect he'll climb back into the thick of things tomorrow. Sometimes balance changes between sessions and there's no time to tweak the car

Sharing a row with Maldonado brings a whole new level of danger. Add to that the likelihood that somebody in the first 3 rows will blow the start and I'd say Vettel will need a bucket full of luck to make it to Les Combes unscathed.

I think the lurid slide he caught in Q2 cursed him with a case of the wumblies...:(
