I think its 5hrs to go till lights are out.

The drivers have been down playing these new start rules but I think it might give us the most entertaining race yet :D

Well I'm hoping for another non-merc win

    Forza Ferrari+Ricci :D

Exactly. I've been doing a rain dance all night. Let's hope Ferrari have also managed to swap their Honda engines for Ferrari ones...

5 places for a £50 part, ridiculous. I can understand engine penalties (almost) but oil pumps? BS rules

Costs saving measures working well. Pretty much same punishment if you break a small pump or if you use two complete extra new power units during the same weekend

An oil pump isn't exactly a rocket science, multi million dollar part though, seems a bit over the top Then again, I don't agree with cost saving at all, I would rather have the teams that can afford f1 in it, and the ones that can't, not

Rain is indeed scheduled in Spa "at the end of the afternoon", light showers in the beginning, then "heavy rain". And This morning down pour in Paris, scheduled for 11:00, began two hours early at 9:00. So, perhaps...

    Total BS rules.
How about steering wheels, now they no longer change just vehicle direction ?

Nearly a third of the grid has grid penalties. Comedy - and it will only get worse through the rest of the season... It's going to be a lottery today!

And steering wheels costs tens of thousands each.... Absolutely, they should be included if oil pumps are. Then again, what about stop/go penalties for using a rip off on your visor, clean ones help a driver see better, and if you manage to 'conserve' some for later in the race, and someone else hasn't, shouldn't that be penalised? Hahaha. If they are going to give penalties all the time, surely there should be some amnesty races, where if you get to race 5/10/15 etc, you can have a free change of anything you like? Might make things a little fairer. Look at McLaren, total of 105 place grid drop today for changing engines again, what is the point?

They should just ammend the rules whereby any part that needs to be changed, must incur a penalty.

Gee they're really trying to build this race into something exciting by talking about grip off the line and the new start rules.

I suspect it'll be a non event, even though I'd love a surprise.

Totally agree, current penalty system is a joke.
Power unit or gearbox swapped out, fair enough. Ancillaries that can break during qualifying or free practice, nope.
They should also re-introduce some championship points for Fastest Lap. Will get most drivers going flat out most of the time.

It will be dull, bound to be now, whenever they build stuff up it turns out rubbish. Merc is the most powerful engine, those teams will win, the starts will be a nonsense, and nothing will change. It's the races they don't expect anything to happen that go awry

How can Kimi's PU be useable if it had no oil pressure and was making those horrible noises? Is his PU going to blow-up mid-race? I don't get it. Just replace the whole PU, like McLaren. He's going to be at the back anyway...

Ferrari decided to replace the entire gearbox on Kimi's car, hence the penalty - It's not because they replaced just the oil pump!

Kimi just needs to relax on lap 1. Don't do anything risky. If he DNFs on the first lap, I'm going to be pissed.

Even just going round to the grid Seb is doing a rallycross on the exit of Les Combes dragging gravel onto the circuit!

It wouldn't have been so bad if he was going flat out but he was probably only driving at @ half speed!
