    Wow Pap, I just looked at Mount Isa on the map... practically an oasis, no? And no beach/coastal towns due north?

    Hi mate,

    It really is out in the middle of nowhere. :D

    An Oasis in the outback apparently. ;)

    The closest beach towns are 6 hrs north, Karumba mainly. But they are only good for fishing, nothing else.

    The decent places are Cairns, Townsville and Mackay. Cairns is 14 hr drive, Townsville 9 hr drive and Mackay is a 12 hr drive away.

    The Wife and I are taking the kids to Cairns mid-May. That will be a fun 1400 km road trip....................not. :p

    Mom and the kids are doing great thanks mate! We just came back from a family holiday.

    Was a wonderful week off, the kids had a great time and we are all exhausted.

    I still have a few days off before I go back to work, so there is plenty of time to catch up some sleep.

    Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic...shot last week end when the Ferrari Club Sweden drove kids with cancer. The kids really loved our cars. We were about 12 cars driving the kids for several hours.
