Hi all, So I've been trying to right the wrongs of the speakers that were installed in my 328. It will end up it better but not perfect. I used the best interior shop around and the carpet piece just wasn't made right after several tries so I gave up. Next owner can fix it better. But here is my question and info: Where do the different length tiny screws go? There are three large (M6 - 1 x 35 mm) machine screws that hold the armrest to the door that go through the door card and into the door. There are 5 long length skinny screws with tapered washer There are 2 medium length skinny screws with tapered washer There are 2 short length skinny screws with tapered washer (Actually both are slightly different from each other in length) There is 1 short length larger screw I know that 4 long skinny screws go through the carpet and into the door I know that 1 long skinny screw goes into the top back hole of the door card and into the door There are now 5 holes left: 1 at the bottom back of the door card 2 at the armrest lower cover plate 2 at the armrest upper cover plate Since both door cards have been messed with prior to my ownership I found both sides are different and I'm just wondering how it should be. Thanks all!
I need to go look at my car, but IIRC the door arm rest mounts to studs. After that, the perimeter is screwed on with sheet metal screws/cone washers, and the speaker grill mounts with four small screws. The early cars may not be the same as the later models, so not sure how much this helps....
