I agree with Furanku, I haven't any sign of it in my record of such a reset during carbs, especiallu Euro...
There is here one of the last Euro carb GTB and its AS number perfectly fit the number of this version built by Ferrari SpA.
Can you post some pictures with serials and AS showing this reset ?

The only reset so far i've noticed is for US QV when it changes from 83 Model to 84, but even for that one, i'm using conditional...

 

The clue is in the word "Assembly" means they are to do with where and/or when the cars were bolted together, not where and/or when these constituent parts were manufactured.

'84 Euro, 51221, "assembly sequence #" 657. This is a picture of a paper tag located above my fuse panel with a hand written "657". I have seen other similar tags but did not pay attention to them before. Today I was checking voltage to my AC interior fan so I had the fuse panel cover off and took this picture. Anyone know the meaning and significance of "Deliberato Matr.N*657" ?

Yes same number. Friend lives half time here and half in Italy near the factory and is original owner of a Testarosa interprets tag to read "Inspection, serial number 657". He plans to check this with the factory next week.

I have 18899 with an assembly number of 52 and an engine number of 43.

Whoa, #1! And also interesting that a 328 has the number stamped in the 308 location. Apparently it moved sometime after 328 production started.

 

Yes, 58735 is the first production 328 GTB, but there is -at least - one "development car" before that one, which is 56211, another GTB that is here in Paris (at least it was here a few months agao, but was advertised for sale).
I have never been able to have a look at her by myself, but as it was originally in US configuration (long front bumper, catalytic converter) my guess is that she could well have #1 also, as the first GTB of the US Market variant.

Yes, but the cab is a one-off; one thing is sure, it has a full 17 digit US VIN.
Whereas it has also a specific assembly number is a question that should be asked to its owner, but most probably it has, as when the car was built the production of this variant was almost certain. The marketing department eventually decided to stop it for the fear of killing the sales of the "Mondial" cabriolet, the only "Mondial" model that was selling well in the United States.
It could very probably be # "1"

That number is the body number. On earlier 308 models there was an "A" stamped there to indicate "America" I think.

"Deliberato" translates as resolved. I wonder if there was an issue found earlier in the assembly and this was how they noted it was fixed? Interesting. Matr. is likely Matricola or serial/assembly number.

 

That assembly number location changed, but this 328 came of the production line when 308QV's were still produced. There are 308's produced with a higher VIN.

 

a real "one off" in Giallo Fly, fitted with an individual model digit (29) as well

 

Once again... To revive an old thread. I just had to share an amusing find. I never checked the body/chassis number on my 78 308 GTS until now:

based on the registry, my car(21819) is number one.
I will verify when I am reunited with her in two weeks.
I will take a photo to verify and share.
I am basing my number "1" only on the GTB registry and would assume its not wrong.

 

My '74 GT4 (9054) is number 400.
