Mostly discusses the ATS-V, but I figured we should keep the set together: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwSLHI_h-a4[/ame]
I participated in the Cadillac Track Experience in Austin and drove the new V for two laps around the Circuit of the Americas track at a good clip. I was behind one of their pace cars which moderated the speed, but we did reach almost 140 on the straight. It was solid at speed, cornered well and was overall a nice ride. It is good to see America be a player in the performance sedan game.
Question is, does it have cue? lane warning departure and other crap that cannot be turned off ? Because to people such as myself those are total deal breakers. Last caddy rental with cue was soo agravating one can only question what were they thinking, to mee it would be fatal in a performace car. Does it have cheezy plastic chrome trim on the steering wheel. Looked at a tahoe, lane departure warning either vibrates you or beeps, no way to deactivate, compared to the 1500 truck the tahoe ride was atrocious/. I think Gm makes great cars these days, still let down by unexpianable details other than teams workign on different parts of cars, politics and an incongruent whole. That all being said, cant wait to try one out. As tot he germans, when their cars run, they do drive nice, and the sales experience makes it easy. Too many domestc dealers still behave like its 1979. But from my personal experionce between Chevy, BMW and Mercdes the chevy service experince is tops.
