Starting to look at California's and I'm wondering what year the 30 version was introduced...
My understanding is that really improved the car and is the one I probably want to look at.
    Thanks, JD

    MY2013, so early 2012 - my 30 is March 2012.

You can tell from the engine code on the VIN when checking potential cars.....

It would be easy enough to look up even if they were that clueless - I also suggest you take your business elsewhere. At least get another salesperson who actually cares to lift a finger. If they can't even look up simple information to make $$ with, imagine what will happen if you have a problem with the car.

I was just asking him as he was walking near the car, in his defense this was not a discussion... Still he did not know...

So, they actually had a Cali 30 on the floor, and he did not know what it was? Don't walk, RUN!!!

As 4th Gear said, find a dealer who actually cares, and is into Ferraris. What a Cali 30 is, is so basic knowledge for a dealer, that there is simply no excuses. Sure, ask him about cylinder bore and stroke, or rev limiter point, and he may have to look it up. But not knowing a Cali 30, and with one sitting on the floor? That's ridiculous.

I suggest that a momentarily clueless salesperson whose mind may have been on a million things at the moment that a casual question was posed by a browsing customer is inexcusable...but should not disqualify an otherwise peforming dealership from consideration. If they have a history of poor performance that is another matter entirely. If they have a history of stellar performance one should factor this unfortunate interaction into the mix, give it due consideration and decide accordingly. Make sure that it really was a sales person instead of the car wash guy!
