Here is a car I sold many years ago, the ex-Paul Pappallardo USA-spec Miura SV 5032, a fascinating car because of its Bruno Metallizzato with Havana interior livery. It was factory-fitted with the same type of Borletti AC vents you see on an Islero.

As such this SV features a split-sump engine and a factory AC.

    Original paint & original interior.

Fitted with engine number 30727, it is Bertone production Number 720, and was completed on the 26th of June 1972, supplied to Paul via Alfredo Pedretti & Alfredo Caiti's official USA Lamborghini distribution company 'Modena Car' (registered Modena Racing Co. Inc, New York NY).

The eagle-eyed will note USA specification of all-amber front turn-signal lenses, red rear turn-signal lenses, side-markers and octagonal center-bolts. The center-bolts were chromed Borrani units, also used for German SVs.

5032's AC unit from an old archive image. Apologies for the small size, I have a series of shots I'll have to dig up.

A/C units from the Italian manufacturer Borletti were fitted in some Miuras starting from the P400S on (although a few P400 had the system retrofitted post-production by the works).

28 SVs were originally fitted with the A/C option at point of production, so its a rare appointment even for SVs.

Rarer still is to find one that not only works, but actually cools.

I once designed a "stealth" A/C system for a Miura I was restoring, with the condenser up front, the evaporator in the center tunnel, and the compressor running off of the cam. Everything nicely reversible, and it looked like it might actually work pretty good. Then the cars got expensive, and I shelved the whole thing.

    Very true.

Funny that the original system was designed with 3 dashboard vents to cool the passenger-only, signalling clearly that the driver's comfort was unimportant!

Let's not forget the racy-looking octagonal nuts for 23,000! One would think wheel-fitments are part of the basic price, but here they are extra.

    Thanks Joe

A correction though: after I learned how to measure the rims correctly these are In Fact
    7 x 15 wheels.
