What do you mean by that? Is the car "no longer with us"?

So 2 x SE30s have been wrecked very recently?

As much as the investor in me would love me to own the only car in the world, please keep the remaining ones in one piece guys!

So the car from the pictures from user "designo" and the wrecked pictures are from the same car? The pictures from designo were taken before or after accident? Which #? As Alex stated it looks like a EU/US or maybe a Arab spec.

What a shame... Same happened with a red SE30 in Dubai!

Pictures I posted were taken the day before the accident.

I have been reading many reviews from magazines about the diablo SE30 and to my surprise most of them have great feeling about the brakes on the car, I think brakes is one of the things that the last 15 years have improved so much in the cars and that makes you feel like cars before that will make you suffer a lot while braking, let me know if you want me to post the reviews in here

The brakes are definitely the weak point on the SE30. By today's standards they are nowhere near robust enough for the power and speed that car has. It's still a blast of a car to drive, and with some tweaks you can get the brakes to the point of "adequate", even "decent" maybe.

The overall brake package is still pretty cool - they used the same calipers from a stock Diablo but put in larger bore pistons. The pad was a special formulated compound (good for its day) and the rotor and hat assembly are bespoke to the SE30. At the time it was reasonably slick.

I am currently running EBC pads and have the fluid tended to regularly. The pads made a big difference. I have been casually researching hardware upgrade options that don't involve irreversible metal cutting, but will probably end up stopping with custom compound pads and putting in steel braid brake lines.

That's the dilemma of rare cars that get so collectible... it's hard to do functional upgrades without hurting value.

I know that is a something everyone agreed on, but what amazed me was that the review didn't just avoid saying the brakes aren't good, but say how great they were comparing it to The Mclaren f1 brakes and that is quite a statement, haven't driven a Mclaren but guess brakes where the best at the time. So now I care less about them as I told in the post I Think braking power has evolved so much nothing from the 90 gives you confidence today in stock form

That makes absolutely no sense; it is a known fact that some cars were "upgraded" with the F1 brake system because of the brake problems, and from what I know this was even done by the factory itself. In any case, this system is correct for the SE.

I'm just letting everyone knows what I found, since I bought the car i have been trying to buy all the magazine reviews for the se and it was common complain that i even thought was evident from the reviews, I haven't encountered one magazine review where they complained about the brakes and contrary found what i wrote about. That doesn't mean i think they are good

Ive had the F1 and still have the SE and i think it's the brake feel rather than the stopping power that causes comments. You need a very firm shove until they are very warm

Go Mifune - I may try different pads in mine if you feel it's worth the change

Was your car used for this movie that was recently released? It has to be your car, no?

That looks like elms' car in the image.

I had a brand new SE30 till circa 1998, and I drove it several thousand miles, hard. The brakes felt to me like they would be better for track use, because when they were cold at street speeds they were, shall we say, challenged. Warmed up and used in spirited driving, they were just fine. I sold it and bought an F40, and frankly, the brakes on that were pretty much the same.

Speaking of brakes, I have never felt better brakes than the PCCBs on my 991 GT3 and 997 RS 4.0, and that includes all makes of car.

In my opinion, the SE30 brakes, when up to temperature, were awesome for the time period. But, now we have a different standard, and 'awesome' in the nineties is only
'decent' by the two thousand teens standard, just like the most awesome TV in the nineties isn't so awesome anymore.

I remember doing a panic stop from about 170 mph when a ZR1 had some trouble in front of me, and they those brakes did an amazing job of slowing me down without any problem. Having said that, I doubt they could have handled repeated stops like that anything like the new ones will.

Has anyone any leads on getting hold of a left hand side door window glass? I'm talking about the larger piece rather than the small section that winds up and down.

    Lamborghini want £4k!
