You're perfectly right, I do have the same brochure and had never thought about it! Thank you, Alberto!

Albert-LP, I have one spare left from Stradman if you need it.
I will send him an email just in case he can take a look at this thread.

This is my car on post#1 (the black one), so I can confirm the position is original and you need the single line Salchi sticker.

I totally agree with dflett on all he said. But, if I may say, during my research, I found that from the change of the name from Glidden Salchi to Salchi if at the same time they changed label, they also change the name printed on it.

Let me explain, for exemple, black which was 20-B-50 goes to 599-1-619 (my car which had its original label)... so you have to find Salchi code for your color...

From what I have concluded my research (at this point), I can say:

599 is the code for the quality of the color
1 is the code for the color (black- red - blue....)
    619 is the shade.

For my car, there's only one black so it is all the time the same but for red car, it could be:
    599-5-190 for Rosso Chiaro or,
    633-5-009 for Rosso Rubino.

So your color code should start with 633 (according to my conclusion, it is metallic) 633-8-XXX (8 is Blu)

I am sorry to say that I have plenty of pictures of code but none that proves the correct one for Blu Sera....

If any one here could help you more, I would love to have also some informations...

Thank you very much, TripleBlack. The Salchi Blu Sera Metallizzatro color code is 633-8-012

This comes directly from Ferrari Classiche Service in Maranello.

So, please let me know how much for the sticker and how to pay (paypal in advance for me is ok).

    Thank you very much again

    ciao

    Hi Franck,
I doubt since 19399 or 19649 (from two well known Fchatters) have it...
Unfortunately, I don't have data on earlier cars.
Moreover, these two labels have the paint data embossed and not written by hand (with an empty ball-pen) as they are on later cars.
Are they repro? Owners could be able to tell us...

PS: It's true that this label is not mentionned in the first owner's manual (116-75) but tires label on the windshield are not mentionned too but, as TripleBlack told me, you have it, no ..?!

Yes, I do have it on my windscreen. Still, the fact that 19399 has the sticker does not necessarily mean 19169 had one, as the brochure clearly shows very early cars didn't have any.

Anyway, I hope we can discuss this in person soon in Paris! ;-)

as for the writing I will have to put on the sticker (thanks, TripleBlack!), I think I will write 633-8-012 with the two minus among the three groups of figures. I think this is the correct way. But I could write also 633 8 012 or 6338012 without any space.

    Any opinion?

    Thank you very much

Alberto, here's another example from a car built in October 1978.

On my sticker the logotype shows SALCHI only, but on the small text it says Glidden Coatings.

BTW, this is exactly like the sticker in your very first post to this thread, which I have attached for comparison. Even with the first line not filled!

This does not seem to confirm David's assumption, that from 1977 on both names could no longer appear together on one sticker.

    Cordiali saluti
    Roberto

I meant that after 1977 the Glidden name no longer appeared on the logo. Sorry for the confusion. In 1978 Salchi were still licensees of their previous owners, SCM Coatings, which was renamed Glidden Coatings around the same time. Roberto, your sticker type was used until sometime in November 1978. I wish I knew the date since my car was built in Nov and I still don't know after a year of research which type of sticker it had originally.

    Regards
David (from a hot days historic racing at Lime Rock Park)

    Hi David, thanks for clarifying.

May I ask if you were at Lime Rock spectating or participating?

Thank you very much, Gordon. I think this one is the correct position and the correct paint sticker type for my car, as I have the inspection hole in the same position on my engine lid and my car was delivered January 7, 1981.

Thank you very much, Triple Black (and thank you for the sticker too, just arrived one hour ago).

Here below my engine lid: which of the two positions? I saw one steel drysump once with the paint sticker attached where I painted the blue rectangle, so I would like to go with that placement. Any tips or help?

    thank you very much

    ciao
