    ?, confused.

Graham Hill driving the Lotus won the WDC in 1968, so "with" success I'd say.

BTW: Before anybody gives Elton a hard time about not wanting more opposition, just remember what MS was like. He wouldn't even accept it from his own team mate and ensured they were restricted by team orders.

Hamilton can keep dreaming. Italians might like blondes but he ain't gonna get nowhere even with that dead squirrel on his bald nut.

Agree. Hammy has life on easy street. Easily the best car over the last 2 years, a teammate that is good but not in the top class. Why would anyone give that up? Remember, when Mcl had a midfield car like Ferrari I recall hammy and massa battling it out in the midfield, not surprisingly. MB have a winning car, no reason to give away the pu especially to RB as that would likely cure RB's ills.

At the end of his contract of exclusivity with Ford, Colin Chapman was UNSUCCESSFUL in preventing other team to have access to the Ford DFV.

Soon McLaren and others got hold of it, and Lotus advantage with that engine vanished.

Red Bull are still a world class and championship winning team. All the facilities are there to produce something great. Look how good they have been lately with their woeful Renault engines.....

I think a Red Bull Mercedes is too dangerous. It would be able like the Mercedes vs Mclaren Mercedes battle when Mclaren were actually regular front runners.

This would be like giving a loaded gun to Red Bull and they'd point it straight back in Mercedes' face.

+1 Hamilton is winning because Mercedes is the superior car, he only needs to be superior to Nico. Ferrari do not need Hamilton, they need to build a better PU, which is difficult because of the pathetic rules regarding improvements and lack of testing it will take a lot longer than it should. The fanboys seem to lack an understanding on how much of a driver's results are driven by the car versus the driver's talent. Alonso, Vettel and Riccardo would have the same results as Hamilton if they were driving the Mercedes. Button gave Hamilton a tough time when they were teammates, even out scoring Hamilton during their tenure as teammates, is Button the 2nd best driver on the grid?

IMO, he´s right. He´s in F1 to win, not to know who is the best driver (they´d need to drive identical cars, and that´s not gonna happen) or to make a good show. Why should he want to make his rivals´life easier?

That's how normal drivers work, but according to a certain triumvirate here, he is a god, and as such, will obliterate anyone and everyone, so it stands to reason if he was as convinced as they are, he should be offering those engines to all comers, even Ferrari.

All the best retain their competitive advantage. Vetoing drivers from joining their teams, building the team around them, shoving their competitors off the road. Nothing out of the ordinary

Hahahaha, there we are, can't argue, so the tune changes. At least you and I agree that it's common sense not to give away your advantage.
