What also sucks is the location. A whole swath of buyers would not travel from the big cities that have 355's come out there you know whats and a whole swath of buyers who won't buy sight unseen and a whole swath who won't buy without a ppi and your nearest guy is 500mis away. Wow! That is a tough nut. I'm thinking $50K on a good day.

Maybe the need for major surg is a wake up call to live life to the fullest? I would say F it! Do the surg tell the doc "make sure I can rehab and drive my Ferrari or let me die on the table." Keep the car and send it 500miles now for it's major. By the time you finish rehab the car will be pristine and your reward for enduring life's medical torture chamber is going very fast on a Montana Highway looking for a private spot to cast dry flies to big rising trout. Saving retirement money is great and all but only if the quality of life is good. I just got back to the big city from fishing out of Yellowstone and Bozeman. You guys got a great life out there enjoy it!

Basically there is not much going for it, other than perhaps the price.
So if you decide to leave it like it is now (major, condition), it should sell on price alone. In Europe there is not much for sale under say usd 60k, but in the US it might be different. Me thinks the usd 50k seems right then.

Nothing happened to MY engine . . . the previous owner's engine, however, was the victim of a shop's owner that wanted to buy a bigger boat! It was a Ferrari dealer and I have the full work order, but basically it sounds like one cylinder lost compression and they sold the PO a complete overhaul. Yes, it was pricey - the total invoice (there were a few other things done "while you're in there") was north of $50,000. I believe that was the 'straw that broke the camel's back' and I bought it right after that episode. Although the whole thing is a little odd, the Ferrari expert that I use now for maintenance agrees with me - I have a 37,000 mile car with a 12,000 mile engine and that's not a bad thing.

Yeah, if there's someone out there stupid enough to pay 50k for an engine rebuild then there has to be someone out there smart enough to pay that for my entire car.

    Put sale on hold !!!!

Get surgery. Then worry about it. The hospitals are very accommodating to payment options and grateful for whatever they can get.

I just went through my second surgery this year last Monday and real familiar with the process.

Heck I know the superman thing I broke almost every bone at least once in my life, I think it's how I get my rest time forced on me :)

Its hard to tell from your description, but I know one mans mint car is another mans restoration piece..Meaning you think the cars paint is a 5 or 6 out of 10 while another person might not give it better than a 4 as an example..Sounds like from your location and what I feed from your description you should be looking at low to mid 40s..You have to be realistic especially if you want to move it..

Brian, I would price it a little higher, it is always easy to come down.
