I was wondering about the driving experience itself. I have a lot of time in a 6 cyl XKE, which is probably my closest experience to a DB 5. I would imagine acceleration is similar, and they are from the same era. Any thoughts?
    Very, very stunning Aston!

DB5 has always has been on my shortlist, but given current prices will stay there for a while... . Meanwhile enjoying the modern version (DB9) :). Will be a classic one day as well, but probably will be too old to drive it by then... ;-))

P.S. was the car always left hand drive or was it converted from RHD for you ?

    Cheers,
    Frank

DB9 looks great Frank. Did you see the limited edition DB9, I think 150 will be made.

Here is the DB5 resting in the shade yesterday after another long drive. I drove the car into New York City on Friday and boy did the car turn some heads!

PS was relieved not to be stopped with the UK plates on! Must get around to registering it.

Looks nice, apparently all 150 have been sold already...

Personally, prefer the pre-2010 model year without extra spoilers and daytime running lights... but that's personal taste...

    Cheers

Cops are just making sure nobody gets too close or a fat girl with zippered jeans does not sit on the hood.

Yes the light turned red and I jumped out to take the picture, the cops pulled up behind and stopped, I took the picture, gave them a thumbs up and jumped back into the car and drove off! I was determined to take that pic in Times Square!

Even 007 needs an AC re-gas from time to time. The local garage isn't quite as glamorous as an underground bunker manned by Q but it still did the trick! I intend to use it as a daily driver into NYC over the summer when the traffic is better so need some cool air. 😎

Totally agree! I road tripped around New England last month and somewhere around Connecticut or Rhode Island there was a silver DB4 or DB5 filling up at a gas station along the highway. It was an awful rainy day but there it was.. Not sure if that was Roma but either way I was happy to see it out enjoying a bit of English weather on this side of the pond.

Still enjoying the DB5. Only change I have made was to put the original skinny Avon tires back on. It changed the handling amazingly! The wide modern rubber made the car feel heavy, with the original tires the steering and feeling is now light and nimble.

Thanks for sharing more beautiful pics..
Glad to see you enjoying it the way it was meant... and here are so many fabulous country roads not far from Metro NY... and imagine the thrill you are giving to those who get to see it.
    Well done you!

PS - Years ago I saw two similar vintage Astons literally racing each other northbound on 684 to 84 in commuter traffic, and they were having a blast. Made my day.

Despite the cold in the New York area this weekend I drove the DB5 over 100 miles, heating on, engine got nice and warm and boy does it pull like a freight train when you put your foot down.
It was also exciting that I found a local hardware store that pumps 98 octane VP fuel with no ethanol!
