I don't think that's right about China any more.

2nd child is now allowed under certain circumstances - not sure if 'first child killed by gunfire' is an allowable reason... As far as I know, guns are tightly controlled in China.

I happened upon this post on my smart phone.

If one is to judge the confiscation of firearms from honest citizen as being the proper thing to do, then I feel it is like blaming one's penis for getting a woman pregnant. Who wants to come up first and have their's cut off? Until the World begins to punish offenders of any laws properly, and not blaming firearms in this case (or as an extreme example the Yiddish in the 30s) for problems, we are not going to begin to attack the real cause. Like the trash that commits the crime in the first place needs to be punished not the law abiding citizen who happens to have the same tool used for personal defense against the same trash.

Cmon malaka. It wasn't even a legit gun store, it was a popup art installation which was only there for 2 days. Half the people there looked like actors/****ing idiots.

I bet you if the bloke said these guns were used to kill Nazi's/Japanese during WW2, they would of been high 5'ing each other.

So today in the Gold Coast and guy walks into a McDonalds, shoots a woman dead and shoots himself, but he's not dead yet.

That's why I don't believe that in the USA all the domestic killings/shootings are being reported. I have no doubt in my mind that there are plenty of shootings in the home that are never being reported...either by a partner/child defending themselves or by an aggressive partner/child. It's only logical that having a gun in a draw adds to the ease of this.

All the murders that would happen spontaneously must be horrific in numbers.

    You gotta believe.

You know that New York City is pretty vigilant about guns, right? Getting a carry permit can take almost a year, costs about $1000 US when you're done, and requires fingerprinting, photos, etc. along with a letter of cause, or reason, for the permit, and a multi page application that takes months to get approved.

It also requires a separate pre-purchase permit from the police, and you can only buy one handgun every 90 days.

This particular video, given that, is pretty much a staged pile of crap meant to upset, maybe amuse, kind of inform, but it doesn't represent reality in NYC.

As stated previously, I'm not a gun nut, but I am a responsible gun owner. I don't currently have a carry permit in Florida, having moved from Pennsylvania where I was licensed to carry, and probably will not bother to get a permit here.

Interestingly, Florida has a 5 day waiting period to buy a handgun, but also allows you to carry a loaded weapon in your vehicle without a permit. Rules from state to state in the USA vary wildly.

I wish there were fewer guns out there, but that's not the reality of it. Even if the USA decided it wanted to limit the number of guns out there, there would still be about a 100 year time lapse before the number of weapons was truly reduced. The current handguns out there would be almost impossible to confiscate, so they'd be a pretty constant source of supply for some time.
