Hello, I have the opportunity to buy a new 458 Speciale, "last produced". The price is pretty high, and wanted to know your opinion : is it worth an extra 30.000 USD on the top of the market price that is already 80.000 USD above tag price ? Thanks for your comments.
What do you mean "last produced"? Like last of the NA V8s or do you mean that this car is being advertised to you as the last Speciale produced by Ferrari?
Yes everything and all configuration. But my question : does it have more value of this is the last car produced ? Not sure...
Rosso Corsa, leather/Alcantara interior, white rev, navi/audio/gps, carbon engine cover, AFS, Nart stripe, rollbar, 4 points belts, parking sensors front/back.
If I'm understanding the OP , it's 110k over list for the last ever serial # produced Speciale ? Ah what the hay go for it ! I never saw a Brinks truck behind a hearse ! It sounds like a piece of history.
I'd be skeptical about anyone claiming "last produced". There are enough Speciales that have not yet been delivered for anyone to claim they've got the last just yet.
It is heavily publicized that James May of Top Gear fame has been promised the last Speciale. And he chose Rosso Dino James May Purchases Last Ferrari 458 Speciale - GTspirit
Fully agree, I already asked the seller (independent, very good reputation) how he can certify it will be the last Speciale produced. I am curious to see his answer...
I'd get that in writing directly from the Maranello factory that it is indeed the last one to roll off the line. There was a 430 Scuderia for sale at Ferrari of SF that was the last off the line, and it was endowed with signatures from all those involved in its birth, as well as Luca who also helped adorn it with special touches like red carbon fiber etc. Someone in the bay area was presented with the same prospect. AND oh, I think James May of Top Gear was too lol. Whether it's the dealership making stuff up or Ferrari ionno, but ya, I'd get it in writing or forget about it.
I don't think the last produced would be offered first to a regular customer. There would also be some fanfare as there was with the last speciale engine produced with the ceremony at the factory recently. Specials will be produced for the rest of this month and I believe only the remaining Apertas to be finished-off next month. Sounds bogus to me.
Is rosso Dino the bright orange he says he spec'd it with? Or did he actually go with Arancio tre strati?
Even if the factory said it was the last Speciale produced, I wouldn't rely on it. Remember, after that earthquake in Italy 10 years ago or so Ferrari cranked out one more Enzo and gave it to the Pope (he auctioned it off to benefit the earthquake victims).
I was able to see the last 612 produced at a dealership waiting for delivery to its owner. It had a nice little dedication plaque indicating so. It was cool to see Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OK I do not understand it. Just the other day someone on the Ferrari discussion board for all Ferraries visited the factory on Sept 4th and said they were still building Speciale's. So who is right
There is a person that has received the "last produced" Ferrari of every model for the last 20 years.. he always get crazy ridiculous freakish color combos and has been featured in many magazines. I don't know his name off the top of my mind but it is well known he always gets the "last" car off the line. I would call serious BS to anyone claiming to have THE last one.
Having just read the Ferrari IPO prospectus, I highly doubt it... At the end of... 2014 3,651 V8 Sport Platform cars were shipped. 2013 3,944 2012 4,274 The Sport Platform includes 458 Speciale and 458 Speciale A for 2014 and 458 Speciale for 2013 and for 2012. The California is bundled under another category called the V8 GT platform. In the prospectus, it also highlights that about 31% of total production went to the Americas. Interpret the numbers as you wish, but given these numbers from the prospectus, I personally doubt the Speciale/Aperta is remotely limited production in comparison to the 430 Scuderia/16M or Challenge Stradale. At the time of the 430, the total factory car production number was pegged at only 4,500 at best...in 2014 total car production was 7,255.
Not sure i understand. you're saying there were 7,255 cars made in 2014. of those, 3,651 or about half were 458 Speciale/Aperta. How could half the cars Ferrari made in 2014 be Speciale/A. i would believe that half are 458's yes but there were still making normal 458s and Spiders in 2012, 2013, 2014... If you were implying that Speciale/A are included as part of the V8 Sport Platform, of which also includes 458 Coupe and Spider, then it still doesn't explain how many of each year are the Special Edition model (speciale/aperta)..? I guess what you're saying is that total production of cars these days is 7,255 or about 75% more than the total production of cars in 2009-2010 430 days and total Ferrari production was back then 4,500 (including 599, etc)
