Euro cars are hard to find these days.
    That looks like a beauty.
    Good luck with the sale.

Thanks! I had folks tell me to be careful of "Grey market" cars - I had a pristine 87 560SL and this one surpasses in all areas.

My mom had a 1979 450 sel 6.9 Euro. AMG front spoiler with BBS white honeycomb rims. The car was white on GREEN! Had some fun date night's in that puppy. Wish I had a picture of it. Boy when you punched it, it went! Always was told OH, OH grey market car the whole time she had it. She finally donated the car about 15 years ago. Not knowing the price will sky rocket. Made me a little sad.

P>S nothing like the Euro bumpers.

Beautiful car, I always loved these SLs and SECs..to me these cars defined the '80s and travelling fast, safely and in style. Modern enough to drive frequently, inexpensive to maintain but yet simple enough to do most of the maintenance at home.

I also have a white / palomino '91 560SEC that rarely driven currently with 157k miles. It drives great and looks like it only has 57k on it.

Lucky strike - you have some sweet cars for sale.

Is there some reason that the Euro version would trade at a higher price than the US. I see SLs of this vintage all the time trading in the $10K range.

Dude...if you have to ask...(-* I've seen lots myself trade at "deferred maint" prices - W107 chassis (Panzerwagen) was the 350, 450, 230, 500 & 560 if memory serves - generally bullet proof if oil pressure is watched, oil is changed & maintenance performed up to 275k mi & beyond - this Euro is non-DOT - note differences in the US spec bumpers and note the 5.0L in the 500 has a GREAT reputation - lighter & more torque - altho see lucky strike's cars for some apparently really nice 560s. I sold my 87 560SL (95k mi) for $15k 3? years ago - big difference in SLs. IMO kinda like $15K Mondials versus $30K Mondials - as we used to say in previous life: " We're all in the band of excellence, but it's a pretty wide band..." (-*

Man I searched for months for this car, anthracite gray, euro bumpers and all. I ended purchasing a pristine '88 560sl instead but this one would have stopped my search.

    Great cars, GLWS.

The Euro spec is more power and torque. A lot more fun to drive. I had the same car in silver for two weeks. Dealer friend loaned it too me while the Jag he sold me was in the shop. Oh the only difference the one I drove was a 5spd manual. GLWS, its a great car.
