I was thinking about putting one for my 308 as it didn't came with one originally.
Can I make this work for the 308?

We are talking about making a threaded extension for our 7 1/4" tow eyes that will make them a couple of inches longer and allow them to clear the bumper and grill on our cars.

You would need an original tow eye with M16x1.5 threads to make it work with the adapter.

The tool rolls for the 308 and 328 came without a tow hook because these cars do not need one: on the 328 for instance, there is a (rather filmsy) steel ring welded to a chassis bar, in front of the battery, passenger side. Big Tex explained where the towing point is on a 308, on the recent thread about tool rolls.
So you would have no use of a tow hook in a 308 or 328 tool roll; that's why they came without one...contrary to the contemporary "Testarossa", for which a mighty towing ring was provided.

That's exactly my point. The 308 are the same as 328, the tow hook is right under the front valance which is a not so good of a location specially if you have the deep spoiler. This is why I want to put one toward or somewhere around the front grill or under the front bumper, easier and less damaging to the front spoiler.

Ah, sorry Mike, didn't understood you properly...
Of course, it means then that you would have to weld some kind of threaded nut, or equivalent, to the chassis itself...
You know that I'm not a fan of the deep spoiler ("Sottoscocca Anteriore Maggioratto" in Italian); I've always thought that it somehow spoils the lines of the car. But that's just me.
