    So even Mercedes Benz basically admit that it's not really needed - Otherwise all of their cars would have it! ;)

    My long-departed '95 SL500 had this feature. I remember it as a unique gadget that would amaze my passengers. MB dropped this feature during the last few years of production, which I suspected was a cost-cutting move. However, an MB dealer service manager told me that the main reason was excessive repair claims. Many owners, valets, etc. not accustomed to a power inside mirror would manually adjust them in a heavy-handed fashion, leading to eventual damage to the mechanism.

    This is what came to my mind..

    I get the thought process though, when you press "memory 1" in most cars now, it re-adjusts everything from side mirrors, seat, steering wheel, pedals, even radio station presets... so it's not really that far fetched.
