A: Good morning, this is XXX YYY speaking. I'm calling to know if my Classiche Certificate is ready. Is it ready?

F: I'm sorry Mr. XXX YYY, but your certificate isn't ready yet.

A: Why that fu@@y certificate that costs more than gold isn't ready yet? I sent the car at your department five months ago: How much time do you need to write a stupid certificate? What are you waiting, you bastard, that I will die before giving me it? Fu@@ you!

F: Dear sir, we already did it, but it's still missing the Piero Ferrari signature, that there is on every single Certificate we give.

A: Great! And when will he sign it?

F: we don't know, Sir. He will sign your certificate when he will have time to sign it.

    A: @@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@ @@@ @@@@@@@!

    --------------------------------

In my next life, want to be Piero Lardi Ferrari: 10% of Ferrari shares (more or less 1 Billion USD) and just sign certificates when I want... :)

FYI , they only meet 3 -4 times a year, to approve and sign Classiche certificates, so yes, you may have to wait 6+ months.

Be glad you're in Italy, you don't have to wait for the book to be shipped across the ocean, then to FNA, then to the Dealership, then to you!

    :)

I know: I was kidding and joking, as I already knew (almost) everything. When I asked (in April...) when I would have received the Certificate, they told me "before Christmas"...

The only good news is that you don't pay anything (here) until you receive the certificate: as I'm waiting for four Certificates, I do not know If I will be very happy that day... :D

    LoL

That's a good point, they make us pay for them in advance!

Makes the waiting period that much harder...

Steve/Alberto/Markus, I hope you don't mind me asking... what is the going rate for the Classiche certification?

I'm the 4th owner of a 1975 GT4 and have considered starting down this path.

Disagree. They have meetings every 2 to 3 weeks. But during those meetings no certificates are being signed. At those meetings the Classiche Department submits each case (car) to the committee.

Yes, I'm looking forward to it. I'm still sorting out the GT4 so I may just come in the 328 (sadly, the BMW 328i :) ), but I'll be there and will look you up.

So, with all due respect, you disagree, to only confirm... " No certificates are being signed " ... during the every 2-3 week meetings ?

I am eager to read your clarification.

And I will for sure, request more details from my side as well.

Shoot me your e-mail address and I'd be happy to send you the current inspection list.

The idea behind it is that it allows you, the current owner to confirm the correct driveline, brakes, fuel system, wheels, etc are installed on your Ferrari.

The Ferrari does not need to be Consorso 100pt ready, just accurate.

There are MANY threads here that discuss both the postive opinion as well as the negitive opinion of the Classiche program.

Obviously, I am on the positive camp.

Sounds cheap, the quote I got from BH Ferrari yesterday:

"Also, FYI, these are the fees for the complete Ferrari Classiche Certification for the two vehicles, for when you decide to move on:
    · 308 at $4,200.00
    · 246 at $6,400.00"

Here is the actual price list as of today's date.

Keep in mind this the price of the Classsiche itself NOT the inspection that goes along with it.

Each shop sets its own pricing for the inspections.

Yes / No . Yes we have found items that would not pass. Before the Classiche inspection / process is completed OEM componants are put in place.

So, no , none of the inspections we have performed, have failed.

friday I finally got three Clasiche Certificates.
Another one has sent back as there is an error (they wrote "GTB" instead of "GTS"...)
and one is still "missing in action"... The funny thing is that the missing one is of the 348 inspected in April while I was given the F40 one, that was inspected July 22...

    Who knows... ;)

The good things are that all certificates are clean: no red lines, no wrong things or other.
