Decided to sell my 991 Turbo S for this beauty. Porsche was a great car. Did not even use 50% of its potential. This is my first Ferrari. Its an 06 F1 with 10K miles. Don't need the back seats but did not use them in the 911 either. cheers.

Welcome to the fold. I grew up in a Porsche household ( my dad drove 356s before anyone knew what they were in our area and I learned to drive a manual on his 1977 911S). However, I always lusted for Ferraris and 11 Red Cars later I've never looked back. Congrats and enjoy the awesome V12!!

    Wow,
You have had 11 different Ferrari's. Thats got to be fairly unique.
I'll bet you wish you still have a few of those.
    cheers.

A superb choice, welcome. The 612 (like the 550 before it) is becoming more desirable with each passing year. That's part of the Ferrari magic very few other car makers manage. Your car is beautiful, and no yellow calipers to distract the eye. Stunning car.

    But here's a big warning.

There is a very expensive consequence of moving to the F side. It will play havoc with your mind. It will make you rattle every tin. It will force you to negotiate carefully every second of every day with your partner. It will consume you in an on-going tsunami of addiction, desire and fun.

Trust me, once you're "in it", one Ferrari is never enough :D !!!!

    Enjoy.

i have the same color 612 since new, but if i buy now, i would never buy it over a turbo S.
dont tell her i said that, but the turbo is so f@#$%^&ing fast and comfortable, and more trash-able than my 612.

Actually do, particularly the F512M. Had # 1 out of 75 for the States. Should never have sold that one😡 But the wife stipulates " one at a time", so the odyssey goes on!!!! Cheers.

    Mark,

Not singling you out and apologies if it feels so. But as a young guy; I see plastered all over FChat the famous "wife" comment. Not married, but on the way. Is this really true or does it all depend on the female?

For instance, many of you probably did not own Ferrari before marriage and it was something that developed during marriage. Where as mine, knows never to get in between the car and I cause I have no problem telling her to leave it alone.

My wife would've dumped for Michael Schumacher any day of the week. She's a true Ferrari F1 fan so she tolerates me getting them. Never driven a 612 but the 991 turbo S with PDK is astounding. Probably the smoothest, fastest and most refined car I'll ever drive. I have no clue how they can put all that power to the wheels and turn it into acceleration without and burnouts. Phenomenal car

My wife is afraid to say a single word against my cars - so it depends on the rules you establish from the very start of a marriage.

Congrats and welcome to the fold! I've worked my way up through other cars but as long as I make at least one purchase for my wife a year...like a trip to Italy or something, she stays out of my way on things I want. Nothing like a good bribe to help keep the piece!

Congrats great car!! Ive Driven both ..the 612 is a ferrari..way more feel and sound and power. You have made a wise decision. If the wife makes a big noise about your cars just change the wife not the cars. Lol.

    Appreciate all the comments.
Brought her home from dealer today. All clean and shiny.
Was on interstate for about 40 minutes. Wish there was cruise control.
Will post a few photos. I love the dark blue interior.
    cheers.

Actually, she's the rational one😊 If left to my own devices, I'd make too many foolish purchases, I think she reached her breaking point about 13 years ago when we were in our first nice house. I had a 1999 550 and my 1995 F512M, both in the 2 car garage. I also had a 1996 355 GTB which sat in the driveway in front of her car. At any rate, our daughter comes along, rationality sets in, etc, etc. I can't complain!!
