    Seems this:

That's the same tire size/wheel combination I'm running, though went with Dunlops purely for the nostalgia name. I'll never push the car so hard I'll notice any performance difference anyway.

My original intention on my car was to get the 8" rear 6" front D type wheels..rudge type..
That would have required new arches..maybe next car..this one is too pretty..

I will admit...The Dayton 6" wire wheel is unbeatable..
the chrome is best I have ever seen and they use stainless spokes..real easy cleaning

The D style wheels are bad ass!!!
Very difficult decision if you had to decide between the wires and the D style

I have wires now but those "D"s :)

I agree, and can see the attraction completely. When I found some pics of Dunlop discs on 'normal' E types, I found one thing visually unsettling:

If all the other chrome is in place, bumpers, windshield, door trims, body beading, license surround, exhaust tips, you name it... the D wheels looked plain and out of place.

Yet when all that stuff is exchanged or greatly reduced for race bits, the wheels look incredible. One man's opinion.

Either way, hard to make an E type look bad!

there are 2 jacking points per side. that is not one of them. many sills and floor pans bent as a result.
look for the small square areas just aft and foreward of the wheels.

I questioned myself on that one too...
Best point would be those solid areas ahead rear and behind front wheel, with 2 jacks..however my car has the little small reciever square right where jack is now..it is the same size square as to fit the stock scissor jack in tool bag..
I was scared to lift ,but there was no flex at all..lifting front or rear points individually puts even greater torsional stress on frame......
If you single jack lift from rear, front wheel comes up anyway..not good...I should have put an extended 2 by 4 under frame rail..

anyway, no damage. I have a rubber donut on jack pad.

Nice car, but in my opinion it just doesn't look right with the wider wheels and tires.

I've always been mixed about the Daytons - I considered them for mine, but stuck with the originals, as I felt it sat "right" as it is.

I am a fan of the wider daytons...they add just the proper muscle to all those feline curves!!!

this car is a lovely spec.

Reminds me of the 66/67 427 Corvettes...
They had skinny bias ply tires when new...you could shred and destroy a tire in fist gear within 10 seconds if you let it rip..
That look was ok for 60's...because nothing better was around..
even the 9 inch campanoglos on the 365 Daytona look too small now...11's were an option.

My Pantera, on the original 7" front and 8" rear looked like it had borrowed shoes 3 sizes too small. (Saved them for the next purist.)

To me - E type OEM is about the same. Love the look and feel of the wider wheels and tires. I saved my skinny originals on this car too.

Yeah, I suppose I'm a purist at heart, but I do know where you're coming from. I had a '67 E-Type roadster and also tried wider tires on it for the same reason. At the end of the day though, I decided it really didn't perform any better and just didn't look right. I ended up going back to original size tires. To each their own.

    Great car, enjoy it!
