Beautiful car. GLWS. Can you speak to how the stripe was painted on the car? Were those panels stripped and then repainted or was the stripe painted on the existing clear coat and then the whole thing re-cleared? Not sure how you would go about doing this.

You would have to speak with the restoration shop that did the work. Basically, it looks like it was done at the factory. Perfect stripe, perfect clear coat. It's interesting that Ferrari has opted for similar painted stripes on their new Speciale. I never could understand charging thousands of $$$ for a piece of vinyl.

Used to have a F40 in the 90's, yes, shoot me....!!....the one I wish I had never sold. A friend who has a CS here in Scottsdale convinced me that, other than the sheer grunt, the 'feel' of the CS was the most "F40 like" of any Ferrari before or since. I have to agree with him. There is a rawness, directness to the handling, steering, feel of the car that is very F40 like. Those of you who are current CS owners know what i'm talking about. I have a horrible feeling I will end up regretting selling the CS just like I do the F40. Still, love my 308 so can be happy that she is one that I will never let go of.

For those of you who are caught up on any paint issue: A major dealer here in Phoenix (let's say perhaps the largest in the country) has a full time detail squad who's job is to 'correct' the paint and bodies of dozens of new cars arriving by transporter from the east/west coast ports each week. Many of them are damaged in transit from the factory to the dealer. I have witnessed numerous of these 'brand new' cars being hammered out, filled, sanded and painted, any number of bumpers being repainted, roofs repaired and doors 'undinged'. I can assure you, many of you have had 'new' cars delivered that were being 'corrected' in this way a few days prior. Something they don't tell the owners (apparently they are not legally obligated to inform of this). As with many things in life, it's mainly a 'state of mind'. The car is 10/10 mechanical : 9.5/10 cosmetic. It awaits it's happy new owner and home.

yes. my 88 TR was appalling....as well as my 92 348. Luckily, the paint on the CS is beautiful (subject to independent verification of course ;-).

That's why I bought her. A beautiful, near perfect looking car, but not so 'perfect' that you would hesitate to take her out on the road. I get a lump in my throat thinking about the car leaving my possession, but the new owner will surely enjoy one of Ferrari's greatest creations. A great car at a great price. Who will be the new owner...?

If it was $219K last week and you're going down $1K/week doesn't that make it $218K?

Someone will get the CS (RC) deal of a lifetime. I'm stuck in HK basically wishing I didn't have to sell. Still, the new owner will love their car.
