Now that the Speciale A has arrived will you still keep the Speciale coupe to? They make such a nice pair... Plus a spot for the VS to?
Coupe is def staying. I had thought of selling it but it's just too good. Specs are identical so a sweet pair. Others staying too. VS is for 16.
Have your dealer press Ferrari, had my GM call because my car was Red 10 for two months plus.... I have grigio silverstone opaco with a Verde-Kers-Lucido Green opaco stripe. A week after they called it is 30 now
Looks like you may have one of the last ones manufactured of anyone on this thread, it seems like everyone else's is in production or has been shipped. My Aperta is on the water so i should have it in October. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is interesting; on all the other spider 'build' pictures they leave the top up. Great color combination there, white with that blue stripe. Very nice and clean looking result! Thanks for sharing your build picture.
My Aperta is status 30. As I'm in Modena area for a few days was hoping to see it on the line but it appears its in storage after painting so won't be on the line this week. Ferrari works in mysterious ways!!
I think I might have the last Speciale A being built. My car is still Status 10 Red. I spec'd the car last November with Ana at the factory. My order was accepted in January and went 10 Red two weeks ago. Maybe Santa will deliver it for Xmas.
I feel your pain.MY SA was ordered in April 2015 and just went Red 10 last week. Looking at late Nov/ Dec delivery.
I was also wondering why the top was open, I've never seen that in other build photos. Any idea? The good news is it's on the water and I should have it this month.
So my speciale is ready in italy. My dealer tells me they have paid ferrari and now expect me to pay up the full amount before i have recieved the car? Is this normal. The car is 5 months delayed , I dont want to give up a cent before the car is registrated in my name
There may have been some fault that they had to leave the top in the open position before it went off to 'sick bay' for repairs. Conversely they may have simply decided to hi light the fact that it is a spider or were bored doing the same picture over and over again. They are very precise to the inch however where the car is positioned to be photographed. While the car has been built at this stage when the photograph is taken there are still more things to do. The Italian 'flag' option seems to be added later on for one example plus testing of the car and it's options. Hopefully smooth sailing for the ride over!
Don't lose the car, give them a letter of credit payable upon title. This is not normal in the US, but they may have a customer willing to pay a large premium and they are trying to get out of their commitment to you. You could also have a leasing company make the letter of credit.
Why would any dealer register a car in anyone's name before taking full payment or having financing in place? The above makes perfect sense to me.....
I did send them a 100k deposit 9months ago. That should be sufficient no? They say the car is finished and I have yet to see a picture.
Not really......full payment before delivery is normal. If the car is complete the factory should have sent them production line photos which they can pass to you.
Just got word from our dealer today that our A finally went red 10. We are all for sure close to the last ones being produced.
Everyone else who had an Aperta or Speciale on order on this thread seems to be red 10 now, you being the last to be informed. Congratulations! Can't wait to see all your production photos.
Thank you! We plan on going to Maranello to collect the car so I'll be sure to take lots of pictures.
Hi Ole, I'm sorry to hear that you are having so much drama. It's never easy with Ferrari, and your dealer isn't making things any easier. When you finally get your car it will have been worth all the misery I know, that's easy for me to say. LOL You don't want to do anything to give your dealer an excuse to sell your car to someone else. That's your car. Your dealer doesn't want to jeopardize their relationship with Ferrari, but the way things are going I don't blame you for feeling uncomfortable. Given how much is at stake, I'd ask a lawyer to advise you how best to proceed. Keep us posted. And show us pictures of your car when it's a done deal.
Never heard of that and I'd never do it. I pay my dealer just before I pick up the car and after I've inspected it.
