We don't want facts to get in the way of a perfectly sanctioned emotional outburst. 👏👏 Kai
Not exactly funny, this is EXACTLY the kind of law that some states are trying to pass. Florida is trying to pass one now that would allow permitted guns to be carried on college campuses by students and professors. Needless to say, most of the profs are against it, and a majority of students as well (at least according to our local newscast.) This one just defies logic. FL has no required training for interdiction in a shootout for permit holders, and armed students are just as likely to dive under a desk, or shoot the wrong person without some real serious training. Most of the large college campuses with which I am familiar now have armed campus police who have at least some specific training. My wife has pounded into my head on dozens of occasions how and when to use deadly force, in any number of scenarios, as she's professionally trained in it. I'm still uneasy with the concept, and unsure if I could execute the "plan" that we've discussed over and over. She would probably not have a problem, but her aim isn't as good as it used to be. I am just thrilled that all my kids are done their college time, and off in the working world, most in environments that carefully control firearms through the use of entry metal detectors. D
Not sure that's entirely accurate, but ass hole? That sure is. And hell, if we could figure out a way to deport all the ass holes who land here, the USA would be a kinder, gentler place. D
"The gunman who shot dead a police employee at a station in Sydney's west yesterday was reportedly a radicalised 15-year-old boy. The Daily Telegraph reports the boy had visited the Parramatta Mosque before the deadly shooting and shouted religious slogans before opening fire. Just heard that on the radio in the car .... apparently he targeted the IT guy, obviously more to the story
"He lauded the actions of three responding special constables, who returned fire and killed the gunman." Special Constables = SAS Becoming apparent that the likelyhood of a terrorist attack in was strong enough to warrant stationing SAS teams to protect likely targets. M
Forget gun control in Washington, obviously WE need to lift our game... how the hell can a 15 year old be carrying a gun? Whoever supplied the gun should be charged as an accessory to murder.
I'm more worried about the idiots strapping a bomb to themselves, easy to make and will do more damage
Probably more likely security guards. Police force gives the title of Special Constables to range of people who work in other areas of the police force that are not front line police officers. I very much doubt SAS teams would be utilised to provide security to the NSWP given that the police force has a range of specialist units. Remember it was the NSWP that would not hand over the Lindt cafe incident to the armed forces.
Nope. During her years as a Fed, she shot one guy, didn't kill him, and took a while to recover from it. They gave her a couple of big burly agents to work with so she could go out without a gun for a while. She did smack a priest who was diddling little kids and bragged that he'd get away with it. D
US gun violence: McKayla Dyer, 8, shot dead by 11-year-old neighbour Not much to say really. RIP and God help the USA.
