Oh man, PB wasn't wearing a helmet in one of those videos. He appeared to be giving rides to show goers. Such generosity. Hoping for positive news on the injured, which apparently includes PB.

Hopefully nothing too serious for all involved so that they can resume their life very soon.

Haven't check this thread in months and just started reading about November trinity test. Was so happy and excited to know there will finally be a comparison test. Then see this tragedy. So so sad. Hopes and wishes to all involved

its like a comparison of these 3 is cursed. Last time I heard about one was on top gear and we know how that worked out for them. Now this

That runway looked covered in sand/debris? I'm always surprised how people are willing to do full out runs on poor quality tarmac. Even vmax200 had absolutely aweful paving...

yea, i saw a p1 onboard video recently and the road condition doesn't seem to be safe at all for driving at such speed.

That's really sad. I hope the inured people to have a fast recovery. R.I.P for the one who passed away.

These kind of events need a little more safety protection.

That was initially reported (a six year old girl) but later reports denied any fatalities.

I certainly hope for a quick recovery for all those injured in this terrible accident.

For those individuals fortunate enough to own these hypercars, there is a conundrum. Mr Bailey is very generous in allowing his expensive cars to be used for charitable purposes, much money can be raised due to the superstar status these cars have; it is not unlike having famous people attend charity balls as a way of raising funds that otherwise would not occur if only lesser known people were there.

However, the owners of the cars often have limited input into the overall event, including safety considerations. So, if the owner shows up at an event where the car is expected to demonstrate it's performance capabilities, he may not be comfortable with the safety conditions - but may feel obligated to have the car run anyway. (For the record, I am not in any way involved in the Malta event). When I saw how little protection there was between the track and spectators, I cringed.

Given this terrible event, will Mr. Bailey or other owners now refuse to run their cars for charity unless they are provided with detailed safety information? Or will they bother at all?

Or people can go back to traditional charity that is based on being humble and not making a circus spectacle of yourself.

Sorry, but these 'events' have always been aweful.

Charity is not just money. To a kid who is sick, the amount of money raised pales in comparison to being taken for a ride in a supercar.

No way! I want to see pro race car drivers who actually own these cars run the test...

    Mark Webber - 918
    Lewis Hamilton - P1
Justin Bieber (just kidding) Lewis Hamilton - LaFerrari
