At Cruizin' on the Croix - Stillwater, MN with my new pal's Ford GT... This weekend we will do Wheels and Wings on Saturday in Osceola, WI, then Wheels of Italy on Sunday... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Haven't been to Osceola for a while, so charging admission is new to me. If all you want to see are cars, do you judge it worthwhile for a 2 hour round trip?
I have not been in 20 years or more, so feel compelled to check it out. I have been told that the car show is now 500-800 cars alone...and the air show is over the top. Plus, for $20, you can drag race on the airstrip..and many do so... I did not like hearing that they are now charging admission after all these years...but its only $10. We will probably take one of the Astons and save the 550 for Wheels of Italy on Sunday.
I was at Wheels & Wings........don't care about planes, so the 800+ cars were all I was there for. And furrin' cars I've found are what I'll spend time looking at....so the ~40(or whatever) cars at Wheels of Italy will top Wheels and Wings. 10 years ago, there were more exhibitors of interest at W & W.
Maybe...but we had a great time and made some new friends. Did you happen to wander by a green DB9 per chance?
Did you make it to Wheels of Italy today? We had the 550 there. Later in the day, we took the Pantera for a ride through the valley. Went to Afton village and Hudson, then ended up in Stillwater...
I was there for about an hour and enjoyed it! I'm thinking yours was the blue one. No Panteras at WOI this year...did you bring one last year?
It was our first time there. Pantera next year for sure. The blue one next to the black 330GTC was mine...
man i have to make it out there some time. If you show up in an Fcar do you get a spot, or how does this work? I dont want to get there and search for a spot...
You need to get to Stillwater by 4 or after 8. The city limited how many lots were available this year and it was packed. I had to park the Astons in the road as last resort parking a couple of times. BTW - One of the most enjoyable shows of the year was at the Withrow Ballroom/Sal's north of Stillwater. Big show, lots of parking, all different kinds of cars...and tractors, too...
These might give you some perspective of how busy it is. Interestingly enough, these are the only pix I have of the 550 at the show...and one was sent by a friend... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Going through car pix from this summer and found these with the DB7 at Cruizin' on the Croix from earlier in the year. We spent more time enjoying the car scene in the east suburbs this year than we have in decades. Even made it to the North St. Paul show for the first time ever. Maybe Cars and Coffee next year? Cruizin' on the Croix night coming up again - Wednesday, July 8th. I think perhaps a Pantera night for me. Come on down! Starts at 4...
This is as close as it got. One other Pantera owner there...but he brought something else this week. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Busy night last evening in Stillwater. Lots of interest in the car...more than usual...but most were completely unfamiliar with the model and its features. And many were surprised to find out that it is nearly 20 years old... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
