Stunning! Congrats and I hope you bring it to the celebration car show!
So why is this car so special? Well, if you've been on this forum for awhile you'll recognize it. It's the late Charles Volpe's Murcielago Roadster! This car was bought from Roy at Cats Exotics by Charles. He flew out to review it and had Kevin repair and refurbish anything it needed. It was then was serviced locally by none other than George Evans of Evans automotive. I have receipts for everything including $7800.00 for a full Quicksilver exhaust, decked out JL Audio system, flip up screen stereo, back up camera and all maintenance. When Charles died, his family had George sell off his cars. The car went to Marino's in Palm Beach where it was sold last year to the previous owner ( who lives locally in Sarasota ) He only owned it about a year and only put 800 miles on it. He did a full service of $3800.00 including all new coils at Lamborghini Sarasota in July of last year. In Feb of this year, he pull all new tires on it.....less than 200 miles on them. After dealing with all these cars, when I was shown this one, I was holy crap!, it's one of THE BEST maintained Murcielagos out there period. I've had nothing but frustration looking at the Murcielago series. Not only do you have to worry about maintenance but options. In the Diablo era, there weren't any options....they all came the same way. When looking at a Murcielago, you have to see what carbon options and with the 06 (LP 640 Brakes ) if they're carbon ceramic. For example, if you don't buy a car with the carbon engine brace ($5800.00) factory option, it will cost you $20,000 to buy it after the fact from the dealer. You will pay pennies extra on the car rather than try to add it later. This car came with all carbon options and engine brace. The only thing it doesn't have is the carbon ceramic brakes.....which are too damn much to service so I'm glad. I passed up a yellow 09 LP640 coupe for this car....it's that good. I'm so very pleased the way everything turned out and the car I ended up with. It was NO easy task. I'm going to enjoy this car for a couple of years then on to the one I really desire and want to keep....a yellow Aventador. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wowowow, congrats Shamile!! Umm, tell us more about the quad exhaust. Holy cannoli...never saw anything like that on a Murci. Aren't you worried about scraping / bottoming out? Of course, it would be pretty cool to shower the car behind you in sparks. lol.
While it will be concoursed, it will also be my daily driver. Here it is in it's new natural habitat doing the groceries at the mall lol I've already put 300 miles on it in a few day. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice! Image Unavailable, Please Login
It'll be there for sure! I'm already getting started on prepping it for the show in April. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice!
Thanks bro! It's part of the quicksilver exhaust system (stock part) I'll be honest, the exhaust and chrome (factory chrome ) wheels kinda look cheesy in pictures and I was going to change them but after you see it all together in real life, it ....hate to say it ...looks kinda good. I may change out the wheels to a satin Roadster wheel. Chrome is too 90's California lol . Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice !
Shamile Congrats. Sorry to see you move out of the Diablo brotherhood. I look forward to reading more in the Merci section.
Thanks! I still prefer the lines of a Diablo and also prefer stick shift. But....I had my VT Roadster for about 10 years so it's also a time for a change. Shamile Freeze.....Miami Vice!
Huge congrats to you Shamile! I'm glad you found the right car! The carbon engine brace is just a work of art. Got to love a topless V12 grocery getter If it were me the first song played would have to be "In The Air Tonight" -- at night, top off, cruising the expressway of the nearest major city. Come on Shamile, there will be plenty of time for EDM later Starts at 0:50 : https://vimeo.com/34116115 EDIT: And this Miami Vice Tribute Video is nice too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3f3uv6MzRg That white TR changed my life as a very impressionable young boy.
congrats! car looks awesome..cept for the black toupee ..haha.. can't wait for babes and rosso vik murcie pics
Shamille!! My Miami Vice buddy! I just read this thread, tells you how often I go on this forum. Didn't know about all this. First, glad you were OK!! It was sad seeing the empty space in your garage, that had to be very difficult, but after seeing this new replacement you probably already forgot about it all and the ladies won't mind either. That car is so "you", love the quad exhaust and I agree the chrome goes well with the color scheme. You did very well waiting for the right car. No worries, you will always be in the Diablo "brotherhood" ,even with owning its younger sister Murcielago. Can't wait to see more pics, and glad she will be getting the attention she deserves. Enjoy and congrats my friend. Cheers, Stephane
Congrats Shamile! Your new car looks absolutely beautiful! Love the Rosso Vik over the cream interior. Very sharp color combo! Glad to hear that you held out and found this pristine, well documented and maintained car! Definitely a rare find. That car has no idea yet on how lucky it is to be owned by you. It also has no idea on how much fun it's going to have in the days ahead! I look forward to more pics in the future, especially some with your ladies and the new car! How will you decide the lucky one that will get to ride in your new car first??
Congratulations on the Murcielago; Fantastico! As others have said, im very happy you are ok and look forward to reading more of your exploits. VIVA SHAMILE!
Congrats - it is beautiful! I actually can't recall seeing a cream interior Murcie of the top of my head, good to finally see/pay attention to one! Love the color, would love to see the top down/off!
Thanks for all the positive comments and private messages everyone! I really appreciate it. Here's the first fill up. Wow, I just put the nozzle in and pumped the gas. No holding it at 8 o'clock on the lowest setting with a click off...click off...click off like on the the Diablo lol Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Image Unavailable, Please Login
