Yes, its a 159, a wonderful driver's car and beautifully appointed on the interior. I'm glad to see the Alfa brand is being resurrected and am looking forward to their next sedan. They will be released next year as the Giulia.

The last generation Alfas all had that same nose. I had a GT before the 159 which I enjoyed after first moving to France from the US. I thought it was one of the most beautifully designed cars available at the time, done by Bertone whereas the 159 and Brereas are Guigiaro. It had the same basic nose and grill though with flush headlamp covers for better aero. It was a wonderful road car but it was so stiff for handling as a sports car, that that it was not really comfortable on long rides as every bump was transferred right up your spine. And with two doors and just a bit more back seat area than our Mondi's, it was really more of a two person car so not practical with friends and visitors. However, as a hatchback and with the back seats flattened, it had amazing cargo capacity. I even managed a sheet of plywood though without the deck lid closed.

I was surprised to find that I only one pic of the GT. It shows where my daily drivers were parked before having the garage and why I needed one. Thankfully it rarely snows in this part of france so the Mondi is available for driving throughout the year.

I have other cars, but dont use them to much, with the mondial having bought it with 10.000 mi i have been extra carefull for not putting to much more want to do no more than 200 per year that way in 20 years of ownership it will have 15. I really enjoy all of the car buton short trips, but really making them work

Nice option, however I saw some with rust near the sunroof hole. Seems fragile. But it where all 8's or qv's maybe in the years they solved the rust problem and the problem is not existing with mondial T anymore.

    Nice car, Nice place.

Allen - - as you seem to be the only one in that awesome coupe, you had better get your A$$ back to the winery, or your wife will hand said A$$ to you in a paper bag!! :):)

    Cheers,

Funny Hank. I had to drag her Ass out of that place. Too much chit-chat and vino. All I wanted to do is get my foot back in the throttle...

It was the last outing of the year for our VAP (Vielles Automobiles de Perigord) club. A beautiful autumn day where our first stop was here at a saffron farm (you get your kicks where you can here in the countryside). We had a nice mix on the drive of some of our more vintage friends - a 53 Hotchkiss convertible, 37 Panhard Limo, 73 Targa - and some of the new - DB 9, Boxster.

Dante was in fine form and on his best behavior, just purring along as we rarely got out of 4th gear due to having to go at the pace of the slowest car, on narrow country roads, to stay together. But that was fine as the views were terrific, the weather mild and the enjoyment of being out with our cars paramount.

We left from there to go to a Ferme Auberge, a restaurant on a farm that raises all the products on site. The meal was served family style in a wonderful old stone dining room with the fireplace going at the end. It was three hours of food, wine, conversation and laughter. A great way to wind up this years monthly rallys. Now we have to wait until March of next year. I guess P and I will just have to plan our own trips in the interim. Perhaps even go someplace where I can get up to 5th gear!

Oh wow! Allen, did you lower the Mondial an inch or two?

    ---------------

Today went for one of the last drives of this calendar year. Next week it might freeze again here if we need to believe the weather forecast. We have this little village called Marken, which is an Island in the middle of a big lake that used to be the sea when we had no dykes yet :) There is only one road (men made) to this Island with a square desolated parking place to take a rest and watch the birds and horse.
