the 4L 500hp engine can be ordered , very special order and need to ask nice, also will need to send extra $$$... it's kind of like the 30 hp power pack was before it became a listed option
and now evolved into the GTS...

    Correct.

Pay no attention to Kouwenhoven. His stock-in-trade is misinformation, as evidenced by the title of this thread, and other postings elsewhere besides.

Had the car at MSR Houston last Sunday for some smile time - still under 2k miles so being sensitive to porsche guideline... love to see the exhaust grey up for the first time - and by golly does it handle well ....

And for those who want to see an R he's one from a few years back based in NJ

Says car dealer Sackey who might be afraid his RS-prices will come down to normal proportions...

I agree that it won't be an RS because it will be called 911 R, but it will be a fun street car with an RS engine and manual gearbox, I welcome it and I think it's nice that Porsche listened to their customers.

For 500hp the car needs the RS rear design, otherwise the ram-air effect will not work. ;)

Porsche will sometimes say one thing and do another. Even an autographed Dr. F. Porsche certificate did not stop the reintroduction of the Porsche 930 Turbo to the U.S. market in 1986 :)

Indeed, one thing is for sure and that is that nothing is for sure at Porsche. Not even the 911R and what kind of car it will be. The 4.0 engine is not even confirmed, could even be a 3,8 GT3 engine. That would even be better, because this engine has a nice racing noise that sounds like something is resonating at high revs - a noise that the GT3 RS engine does not have. Andreas Preuninger explained that this has to do with the air intake system and it's completely harmless. They could not reproduce the sound in the 4.0 RS engine because of the different air intake.

So, you agree that you are misinforming the public.

Besides your now-abated price-trolling on the Turbo Carrera thread, and besides this episode of making 2 separate erroneous posts in 2 separate threads misinforming the public, the previous time you posted misinformation was this http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144131654-post5219.html where you stated that "the 997 GT3 RS 1 does still have the much praised 'Mezger' engine and the 3.6 does not", not only a contradiction, but totally false.

I was happy to set the record straight http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144132718-post5223.html and you responded claiming you were "confused about the subject" http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144132919-post5230.html

Perhaps you are "confused about the subject" again, either way, please note that continual trolling is a ban-able offense.

As far as prices, the new 911 R will have zero impact on the values of all GT3 RS cars, past & current, for obvious reasons.

Nobody is perfect. Not even you with your changing opinions.

One time you write this about the 3.0 Turbo:

In my professional opinion, the 3.0 cars are at a parity regardless of year 1975/1976/1977 (in fact a case could be made for the fact that the last year is the best car)

And then your opinion changed into this:

I may have adjusted my overall estimation upwards a bit for the 1975 cars, and the 1976 cars somewhat, I still think a 1977 is a $150k car.

This has nothing to do with the cars you are selling or want to buy I'm sure at that period in time.

BTW I own two GT3 RS cars so I have no interest in talking down prices. Why don't you applaud the fact that Porsche builds a car that many of us have been asking for?

As someone with a GTS manual transmission on order, I would have gladly paid 20 or 30 K more to have a high revving GT3 motor dropped in my chassis! I wish Porsche would make cars like this available to average Joes like myself. I think they are trying too hard to copy Ferrari with the VIP thing.

R's were very lightweight vehicles with fiberglass panels, plexiglass windows, plastic door hands little or no sound proofing - there's no way Porsche would be able to supply such a vehicle into US for road use ... lets not forget there is the GT3R already. As previously mentioned MrP said no manual with GT3. So I can only concluded this, if there is any truth to its existence, will be a marketing vehicle rather then what is being hyped - time will tell....

Porsche reportedly is only building 600, so yes -- it's built to be a collectible, like the 997 Speedster, which also cashed in on a name from the history books and was never raced. (And Ferrari was no better with the 599 "GTO" - never raced, no history.)

If you can find one of these cars with a rock chip in 2025...
