Wow, 32 less! That's quite a bit... Same dyno both times?

Nice run at the track, mid-12's is way faster than I thought these could do.

Yeah mid 12's is a nice running car not to mention it takes a great driver to do that also.
    I don't think it's Jims first time :)

    Great numbers.

I'd take that time slip over compression/leak down numbers any day when purchasing ;)

    Appreciate the kind words :)

Yes the 99 was on the same dyno (dynojet 248) and dyno operator (me).

And you are right Tim, I've been down the track a lot! Not recently, this was the first time again in a few years. Really with the nature of these cars a good run is just as much luck as anything else.

And yeah, I don't know what the leak down and compression is, never did a PPI. Doesn't use oil and it runs ok so I guess she is good for now ;)

Thanks for the reply on the dyno James. Great car you have, and obviously a great pilot in the important seat!

Nicely done!!! That's almost exactly what my Miata (12.70@115mph) used to run in the 1/4 mile. I am impressed, I would love to see the dynosheet, because that car is making some excellent power (north of 350 HP at the wheel).

Considering that my 2450 lb miata was running 12.70@115 with just about 300 HP at the wheel, I know that either the Ferrari is making considerably more power than stock, lighter than stock, or both.

    It made 327rwhp 245rwtq

(peak torque on the graph is a spike from ignition lead interference).

Might be making slightly more at 100+mph due to ram air/cool air.

Weight is close to stock. Exhaust components are slightly lighter but Canadian cars had heavier bumpers so probably close to standard US car weight.

When I took a car to the drag strip I was told that every 10th of a second lost at the 60ft time would cost you two 10ths in the quarter. If you look at your runs that is pretty accurate.

Nice dyno sheet. It seems like these cars either dyno in the 290 or 320 range. Could that be due to a difference in timing? Would exhaust affect dyno sheets? I would be curious if Capristo cars all dyno better.

Well, just about a year later now I was going to the same track for a CTS-V event we sponsored for our customers.

Decided to drive the F355 up there and couldn't resist running it down the track again.

Last time the weather was better, density altitude was 98ft above sea level.

Today density altitude was 777ft above sea level.

So, trap speed was down a bit but she still ran pretty good :D

Nice run, Jim, even with the high density altitude.

If you want to do a quarter mile in 8 seconds, let our tuner, El Gato, prep your car...

    Thanks guys.

Barry, I've been talking a bit with Felix. Setting him up with some CTS-V stuff and he's going to help me out with F355 software. Don't want it to run 8's, just having some fun :)

Paul, reaction time doesn't affect elapsed time. ET starts/ends by breaking the start and ending beams. (so if you sat on the line for 10 seconds you could still run the exact same ET but would lose the race to the car next to you)
