I agree completely but that would be its fourth repaint - gold to green, green to red, red to yellow, then yellow to gold again...
I wonder what mess they did those times, because there are P250 with 20*** VIN's, P300's with P250 bodies, P300 with odd Vin's like 20003. Looks like they had put together everything they found/was lying around to finish and sell a car.
throwing them together is right... in the convoy article, the mirrors on the silhouette were mounted upside down!
There was a rush to get 40010 completed in time. This was the first RHD car so perhaps no RH mirrors had been ordered and a LH mirror was fitted on the RH side of the car. There was no mirror on the LH side.
Original Mirror only came in one side. Good news the LP420 SVM Urraco has been selected to display / debut at Quail 2016!
Does anyone know how i can get hold of airfilters to this kind of airboxes. Brand, copies etc? I need to get new ones to my Urraco P250, 15212
The top image is the third air box from a P300/Jalpa. On the P250 the air supply came from inside the engine compartment. The P300/Silhouette/Jalpa bodies had the fuel filler on the RH side of the engine compartment so that the external air supply could come from the LH side louvres.
ivor there are exceptions i recall, P111 based cars from P300 bodies had left side third filters along with the old original lefts side fuel fillers. safe to say P111 bodies are a hybrid of P230-P300?
I have pics of the engine compartment of only two P111s with P300 bodies. Both have the RH fuel filler as expected and the P250 style third airbox. On this basis the bodies were not changed but if you have other pics to the contrary I would be most interested to see them! Meanwhile note that the ex Convoy P250 bodied P300 for sale in Australia had the fuel filler moved to the RH side so that the correct P300 air box could be fitted...
I recall the majority of P111s if not all had the left side 3rd air box along with the left side fuel fillers. I can't remember the few odd late P111s that came with the right side fillers. There use to be a red/blk 3L body one in Cali with the metal gate and p300 interior. I think that car is in Europe now.
Posted today on the Countach Downdraft thread is a pic of Turin 1972. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144375500-post1050.html This was the first occasion that the yellow pre-production car was seen with spot lights and the revised dashboard but the RHD wipers on this LHD car are still an obvious feature!
RHD urraco coming to auction soon... 1972 Lamborghini Urraco SP 250 for Auction - Anglia Car Auctions
very cool, a friend of mine had one back when we were in high school, I bet he wishes he still had it
This Urraco for sale in US was briefly owned by Olivier. Lots of recent engine work by Evans and some chunky invoices too! Lamborghini : Other 2+2 | eBay
