Only early comp cars had 12 cyl engines with 4 cams, 4 valve per cyl with top mounted 6 carbs? I couldn't think of any, only comp Ferraris w/4 cams and 4 valves with Lucas FI. Any road cars used this unique set up aside from the DD QV's?

I have both the advert and also this radio. Although not yet fitted in the car. Another “to do” item. Not that I'll ever have it turned on. Well maybe once or twice to see that the electric aerial still works!

Got a chuckle at the photo of the Jalpa V8 engine they mistakenly called the front of the V-12.

    Well done Joe!

This thread is amazing. Very interesting to confirm the DD engine was really able to produce more than 470 hp in perfect tune.

    Thanks a lot.

To give a bit of context, do you know the first and last cars that are classified as QV downdraft?

For UK RHD, the first was the red Barry Robinson "BR33" FLA12802, but there must have been earlier cars in LHD. 5 cars were in the UK by May 1985, so this must have been delivered in early 1985 I'd guess.

The UK cars in articles you have shown above include the only yellow UK RHD QV C705BYX FLA12848, the famous red C701BYX FLA12863, Dec 1986 Performance Car red (with white Miura SV) C323BYU FLA12878 then the red E482NUL G/HLA12065 and red E57JAR G/HLA12165.

Great thread. 10 pages in three days - must be a new record!

2400 plus page views in less than 2 days is hot. I don't keep track of these things, but it shows the interest in the King Kong of all of the variants.

I don't know the chassis number of the first Downdraft, but somewhere I have images of a red Prototype that existed in 'Monospeccio' (single-mirror) guise running around the factory that was likely the first car.

in fact, its was used as the basis of the DGM illustrations that Ingegnere Luigi Marmiroli gave me, and you can see it below in single-mirror status.

Robert, could you advise the chassis number of this early UK-registered RHD QV DD?

The only thing I'm sure of in that instance is the car's specification!

Don't know if this is correct, sourced from the registry:
    12796 1984 ~ ~ ~ Prototype QV.
FLA12798 1985 ~ Black Black Wing. Gold rims. CA, USA.
12803 1985 ~ Red Cream RHD. Hertfordshire, GB registered BR 33. Brian Robson.
FLA12808 1985 ~ White ~ Ex-Formula 1 driver Keke Rosberg. <- Keke got one of the very first.

    FLA12795 is the last LP5000s:

Concerning FLA12976 I found a very old post of myself, can't remember this and have no more access to VLG.

In MY 1987 September 1986 they placed the new side dash vents horizontally like in my Prototype (Mai 1986), this was later changed to vertical dash vents.
This is HLA12045, produced/delivered in September 1986, as it left the factory except the two buttons below the belt alarm sign, it has the choke which was used for swiss cars.
