Pistons will come from CPS. This silver one will stay with its OEM pistons, as slivers are still very good. My (fantastic and BY FAR better than YOUR silver one...) red 208 GTB turbo will receive new slivers and CPS pistons too, with an huge and complete rebuilt very soon (I think in a month or two). Then I will let you know the bore they will have. I suppose 67 mm (2001 cm3), but I will ask if I can put in a 70 mm piston (2184 cm3)

    CPS Pistoni Speciali - Torino

    ciao

Edit. I just checked on CPS site: 67 mm pistons as standard, +0,2 mm, +11 cm3 (better than nothing)

today we installed the correct front passing lights (chrome body, smooth lens). The prancing horse must be removed from the front grid as the car hadn't it from factory and all the car must be washed (it hasn't been washed or cleaned since at least five years, what a shame...)

I always thought the 208 was a 2l 4cylinder. But it makes perfect sense to mod a standard 8cyl to keep costs down.

So I am so looking forward to the progress of this thread.

208 Engine is an underbored 308 engine. It's also the smallest displacement V8 ever. And the 208 turbo is the first Ferrari turbocharged street engine ever too. It's a not well known engine, but full of amazing features. And, in the latest 1986 evolution, incredibly fast and powerful too.

    Ciao

The OEM Radio-cassette player: It would be better to say "the dealer installed one", as you know no 208/308/328 came out from factory with a radio, but just with speakers, cables and antenna.

This is not one like the original, but the original itself, as it was removed for a much more modern one, but the former owner gave it to me with the car: It will be reinstalled on the car as it was from new.

Those are very thick liners. The engine is essentially sleeved down to comply with the Italian smaller engine displacement tax. I bet the 3.0 liter liners slip right in.

yes, they will do. But then the engine would explode as the compression ratio would be too high.

Yes and no: the NA one was that, the turbo is a turbocharged engine with many mods. Or you could say the glass 308 is essentially a GT4 cut and with a different body or the 288 GTO is essentially a 208 turbo with a turned 3 liter engine and some other small mods. They started from the 3 liter, but the engine is different and the output even more.

    ciao

Albert thank you for having me over today. Guys his "328" GTB Turbo is amazing, the ONLY thing that shows any age is some patina on the airbox cover. There isn't even any dust in the nooks and crannies of the brake calipers.

Todd, thank you very much for your visit here this morning. Next time I will plan a visit at my mechanic shop and you will see a turbo engine opened.

    Ciao

Edit: here you are a present, a souvenir of your visit, as this pictures was taken just two days ago and exactly where you parked your Jeep this morning. Please tell the world how nice those turbo cars are when seen in person

They are very nice and your "328" GTB Turbo I am sure is the best one left.
300 between the "308" and "328" versions. Albert owns 1% of the total production.

We got the car with a Tubi Style stainless steel muffler, and no stock exhaust. As you don't achieve the Classiche without the stock exhaust (and it's out of stock), I found one in very bad shape and I'm trying to fix it. The muffler was cut, opened and fixed where possible, then welded and closed again. Now it needs to be painted in the correct color and to receive the two round edges around the two couples of tips.

Note that muffler is completely different from any other 2-3x8 model, even from the turbo intercooler one. It has two intakes, one for the engine and one wor the wastegate.

It will be kept just for exhibition and the SS Tubi will be the standard muffler on that car.

    ciao
