At this point the goal is to remove the inner door shell. If you are just doing the locks you don't really need to do this but I'm going to give the window an overhaul (hopefully). The window has two red plastic tubes where the motor feeds and the are attached by two plastic clips to the inner door. Which needs to be unclipped. One is here.

There is a cable which runs from the door pull to the lock assembly. When you take the inner door off, that cable is coming to. So you need to disconnect it from the lock before pulling off the inner door. In my case it was disconnected already. But it still feeds through a clip at the bottom of the door.

In order to pull the inner door off, you need to undo every 10mm bolt you can see. There are also a couple of 10mm nuts. I forget how many in total but around 8.

If you have done everything right, when you pull the inner door off the glass shouldn't follow ! Just in case I got my daughter to hold the glass so it wouldn't fall out. B

Disconnect the electric connection from the window motor. Grab the glass and twist it out of the door. The motor is just dangling at this point so be careful it doesn't smack into the glass. Store the window somewhere safe. V

The lock assembly is held to the door with 3 hex bolts. Two of my hex bolts were badely threaded. So much that the last one I had a hard time removing. I ordered new ones.

In order to attach the hill engineering magic piece, you have to get the barrel out. It's held in by a little clip. In my case the clip was so covered with crud that I could find it at first.

This picture shows the spring attached. If you buy the door kit from Ferrari you get a new spring but the magic piece is plastic and hence will probably break again. If you get the hill magic piece, all you get is that and no spring. I don't think you really need the spring, it just allows the key to nicely return to the center position when you lock/u lock. I got lucky and found the spring in the door when I took the glass out.

Great thread, great pics and info. Thanks for making the effort to get this into the archives.

Very handy to have a 308 nearby to serve as safe storage for the parts removed from the 348. I'll have to keep that in mind for the future. ;)

Could you post a pic of the back of your door speaker? It looks like it fits in the stock mounting location with no mods. Is that the case?
