How do I know if this is genuine?

I don't think you have to worry about replicas, I've never seen this wheel duplicated simply because there's not much market for it. If you feel better, ask the seller to represent its authenticity, easily visible with the customary markings on the back side of the wheel.

Just my thoughts:

Any wheel that's been refurbished is suspect and therefore likely worth and sells for less even if its perfectly executed.

If it was just cosmetic refurbishment, that's one thing, but structurally, you'd have to do your own homework as the merit of the wheel as it is only as Good as the severity of defect it had and the quality of the repair.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with a repair, but a non repaired wheel is always a better bet.

Do your homework on the wheel, repair and the seller, and you'll likely be alright...

Like Moe said, nobody is faking 612 19" wheels because the market is so limited.

 

If the price is too good to be true and it's on eBay, it is most likely stolen goods. eBay is the world's largest fencing operation.

Indeed. In Germany several courts have condemned eBay costumers, private end customers buying for their own use, not resellers (!), for fencing. It was reasoned that non-knowledge is no excuse, since it is deemed well known that desirable articles (e.g. multimedia systems in cars) distributed over eBay are likely stolen goods.

So, if you buy back your own multimedia car system via eBay, stolen from you just the day before, even then you might be accused of fencing .
