I saw the valve covers on page two. Are these also painted like on the blue 308 GTB?
Sorry. Like always. It's a matter of taste. But if the whole engine is painted, I would at least take all the effort to strip the valve covers to expose that great natural aluminium finish.
I may be bizarre, but I also don't like black or red crinkle paint on these engines.
Alberto, these are aluminium not cast iron engines. Why hide it?

    Best Regards
    Martin

It's impossible to clean the head cover. The engine is not painted, just head covers.

    Ciao

Would you know a source for the 208 cylinder liners?

I'm sorry, I don't know yet. I will learn it next year, when I will (probably) change the liners I have in the red one.... ;)

    ciao

    Albert,

    LOVE your turbos.

With the stock exhaust, was there any packing inside the baffles of the exhaust or did you add any packing in the exhaust. I had an old Ansa where a baffle broke. I opened it up and there was some remnants of packing (asbestos? I carefully removed it while wetting it down to stop dust) but didnt replace it.

It sounds great but I wonder if the packing gives some needed backpressure hence asking if you added any to yours?

I'm sorry, but I have no idea: my mechanic did the whole work without giving me any detail.

    ciao

the car is ready: today I drove it for about 60 km. It woprks and I did : will go to the bodyshop. Works great and it's very fast too! Good mid-low RPM power wit hthe Tubi Style SS exhaust: really a big (and almost incredible) emprovement if compared to the stock exhaut. The engine now has more power and, above all, the turbo boost starts 1000 RPM less than before.

I'm VERY BUT VERY satisfied of the work done and by the car performances. Monday it will go to the body shop for the finishinig.

    ciao
