The question is vague. Better at what? For daily/ spirited/occasionally track fun at a great price . Hands down the BMW E46 M3 SMG. It was awarded dirvers car of the decade for a reason Let the haters hate you would have to be an exceptionally great driver to milk all the potential out that car and you can get a nice one for $25k.
Looks, sound, attention, 355. But it's not a great car to daily drive. Doesn't drive well at low speeds. Pain in the a$$ to get in and out of. But. I love driving my car at night with the top down. Amazing.

I've driven a lot of cars and the F355 is special. It's really the last of the raw, analog Ferrari's. That said, I still have and want other cars in the mix.

Bought 1995 355 GTS in 2011 - absolute dream car and everything I hoped it would be.

    Bought 1988 Testarossa in 2013 - WOW - I own two Ferraris - amazing!!
    Sold Testarossa - bought 2003 360 Modena - Amazing
    Sold 360 - bought 2005 911 C4s
Awesome Ferrari and awesome daily-driver-in-Colorado Porsche

The 355 is by far the most entertaining and passionate cars I have ever owned - and I have owned a lot of Vettes and other things working my way up to Ferrari ownership.

When I had either the TR or the 360 I found myself forcing myself to drive them over the 355 simply not to neglect them but I honestly wanted to drive the 355 each time.

I have driven (not owned) a 430 and 458 and they are awesome cars and in every way superior to the 355 except one - passion.

    Cheers :)

    Well it's a car so driving I suppose :D

As I said, I'm not asking which is faster around a track, what will out accelerate it, or what is better value for the money, simply what have you driven that you enjoy driving more.

Everyone of course has their own opinion which is what lead me to my curiosity. For example I don't find it the least bit inconvenient getting in and out of the car or driving it at low speeds/in traffic.

^^Scott, coincidentally I am going to look at an 08 C4S today as a possible replacement for my daily driver.

I'm disliking the auto trans in my ISF. Really enjoy manual trans more.

Get an effing grip. It's an honest, emotionally detached answer. If you live on this planet and haven't driven a better car than an F355 you living in a hole or you are speaking with an emotional bias. This has nothing to do with dissing a 355, it's having a grip on reality. I see guys here with 2 or 3 F355s. Why? There are so many great cars out there. Life's too short to go through with F355 blinders on.

It's an emotional thing, you said it.

Why 2 or 3 355s? Because we can only have 1 wife. Well, those non-muslim among us anyway.

Have I ever driven a better car than a Ferrari 355? Absolutely yes, Porsche 911 Turbo, no brainer.

Have I ever driven a better looking car than a Ferrari 355? Absolutely no, no brainer.

I like my 355 because its a great all around car. it by no means is the best at everything, but that doesn't matter.

I like how its "fun fast" meaning its a pleasurable driver car with just the right amount of performance for enjoyment.

Most of my other cars have been what i describe as "scary fast" meaning every time you punch it you feel like your on the fine line of exhilaration and death lol

I liked carrying the whole fam in luxury my 700hp V2 CTS-V, nothing like that feeling of speed and being able to share that with others. My z06 was very comfortable, zero stress reliable and the LS7 would easily get over 30mpg on cruises. My Camaro SS brings back great memories of youth. At the end of the day, its just a car and the only thing that matter is do you enjoy it.

Now that it has been mentioned I have not noticed owners in the other sections (308/328, 360/430, 458/488) owning more than 1 of any specific model other than in the 550/575 section. We also see owners that have had multiple Fcars keep or come back to the 355. I have a friend that has been through a 430, 599, 458 and several Aston Martins, but has always owned his 355 and does not have plans to ever part with it. There is something about the 355 that brings this, i have driven a ton of cars and very few provide me with the enjoyment the 355 does. The beauty, handling, size, sound and raw feel are a rare combination.

I don't understand long term owners that complain about their cars, if you dont think it is great or special, sell it and move on to something that makes you happy, life is way too short. Cars are an individual and emotional thing, if one argues that is not true, they should be driving a Camry not a sports car. Complaining about driving a Ferrari (any Ferrari) definitely strikes me as a first world problem that i cannot comprehend.

    Forza Ferrari.

Excellent post! I know your car well, Bob took great care of it until 2011 and I am happy to see such a great 355 stay in Colorado and being driven by someone that loves it!

    Forza F355!

I'm not living in a hole or speaking with emotional bias, I truly have not driven a car that's all around better than the 355. Every time I drive it I literally say to my self, 'this car is just so damn good', it really is.

I've driven 911 turbo as well. And tonight I drove the 997 C4S. Have to say it wasn't a bad car but in no way was I immediately in love.

Maybe I just like old cars better. Need to try a 993.

458 Italia, it is like a modernized 355, similar angles and styling cues with the power and handling turned up to 11..

No, I haven't. That's not to say there isn't a more fun car, but I have yet to drive one.

Of course I've driven better cars.

I've never however found anything with the looks, sound, handling and the size of a well sorted 355.

These cars are amazing. That's why I've owned 5 :D

I gave my list of cars that would likely replace one of our F355's but until much more cash arrives, we are pretty lucky and happy at standing pat.

Went for a drive tonight and the car was so tight inside and out. It was a lot of fun in the canyon curves and on the ups and downs. I made a point to get out and walk around the car again to make sure I wasn't crazy...

It's just a great car in all aspects.

    I was talking about convince.
See I am the Thailands former 70 kilo WMPO world Muay Thai champion with five title defenses. I am also the first Forigner in Muay Thai history to hold stadium belts in the 70kilo and open class at the same time. I can verify this with photos and videos if you want I don't eat chips or pie. If your ever in Charleston please stop by I would love to carry on this conversation in person. But until then. STFU

    +1

I really want a 993 C2 for the classic but still quick Porsche feel, and a 997 TT to scratch the speed itch, but man is garage space hard to find around here... Just ask Robb what my pathetic garage looks like.

I know for sure that I would still enjoy the F355 more than either P-bug.

Everybody needs to respect all these different opinions and just go grab a beer and watch some football or get ready for the new James Bond flick. We don't need to meet anyone after school at the flagpole. Right? :) There is no one answer that suits each person. And I don't think some one is crazy for liking or disliking the cars. We all have good days with them and bad.

I made notes of what Cuneo found for a rental garage and decided to go 180 degrees in the opposite direction on my new build... I kid! :)

I love Cuneo's pad, photo studio, garage and cars. His black '95 influenced me on getting mine. It's a great sounding and looking F355.

Looking forward to adding my Capristo and following in his and others footsteps.
