I'll be there from the East Coast! But I came to the SoCal section looking for something to do Halloween weekend when we go to LA first lol.
Before internet was a place for manufactures to get together to network Today it's a huge car show with no real reason for manufactures to go except for a vacation for their sales staff. I vacation in South of France, Italy instead now
Hey Brian - it's the Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association annual trade show. SEMA Show | It's apparently a must for anyone into anything automotive but is officially only open to those in or related to the industry.
While there are interesting cars and exhibits, I'm not planning on attending this year. There is just too much crap/junk(an entire hall full of Chinese crap), many "show cars" of questionable aesthetics, row after row of goofy stuff. No longer worth it to me to see a handful of exceptional cars and a few products that interest me. To each their own though, as many seem to still enjoy it(or as stated, use it as an excuse to holiday/party).
Sounds a lot like the automotive version of CES (the consumer electronics show) which I do every other year or so: Some good, some bad, some ugly....and lots of booth babes! Anyhow, I've never been so I'm looking forward to checking it out
I'll be there, Thurs-Sat. It is an even better show than CES. Cars are cooler than electronics (I've been to CES every year since 1991)!
