Does anyone have Larini X pipes on their 550? Larini Club Sport Center Section Exhaust Pipe Ferrari 550 Maranello | eBay thanks, bob
I have this exact pipe on my 550. Very nice exhaust note, no drone whatsoever, and excellent fitment. I prefer the sound of the X-pipe to the straight pipes. Because of the blending in the "X", both tailpipes have the note of a V12, not 2 separate sixes firing 60 degrees out of sequence. The "X" also seems to be somewhat quieter than the straight pipes, and doesn't rattle windows or wake up neighbors in the morning. Again, just my preferences - many others prefer the straight pipes.
John- The factory preferred straight pipes, too, and all 575Ms past about September 2003 (AN 51797) had straight pipes. We know straight pipes produce more hp and torque, but some, like you, prefer the sound of an X-pipe and the hp and torque differences are not that much at all.
I have the larini sports club boxes and love the sound. What would be the sound/loudness changes if I swapped factory resonator for this larini center x pipe? Thanks for any input
Hi Bob, I have one larini center sport (not the x pipe), with OEM rear exhaust, letting the valves open all the time. the result is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdUgwHjgJys
I have as well the Larini center exhaust sport section, this is high quality made and gorgeous sound! Love it, in straight pipes.
