I bought a nice 512 TR die cast model from a fellow F-Chatter which arrived this morning. It even has been signed by Michael Schumacher! Very nice Markus ... There also exists a bigger 512TR model (NOT Revell or Burrago) which is quite expensive but very nicely detailed ... find that one too !
Mel - I also have a bigger Testarossa model but no 512 TR! Would be very nice to have a bigger 512 TR model too! Markus
Will try to find you the name: it's the Ferrari 512TR by Kyosho 1/18... Its about 140 Euro's + P & P .... the very best model ... a MUST-HAVE ! They also seem to make the Testarossa and of course I have one Pocher TR ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks, Mel! I just found one on E-Bay for EUR 210. Hmm thats quite some money for a used model car. Markus
I took my 512 TR for my commute to my office this morning. Shortly after arriving at my office I got a WhatsApp message from a fellow owner (and F-Chat user) of a 512 M with the pic below. The comment was My friends are spying on you, Markus. It turned out that a friend of him was driving behind me thinking that I (nearly) have the same car as the 512M owner. He made a photo and sent it to our friend (512 M owner) who then forwarded it to me. It is funny how small the world is sometimes. Markus Image Unavailable, Please Login
After all of the talk of yellow Testarossas I spotted this in Santa Barbara. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
this looks like a koenig body kit with BBS rims? but the engine seems original when I see the exhaust
He had aftermarket tips. This car was whisper quiet. Just coasting at idle. His plate said ARCHGTR. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Its' the fabled Gemballa TR my friend. I know there is also one in pearl white. Here's an internet link about the yellow TR http://www.1000sel.com/index.php/ferrari-testarossa
ok jaime you are right koenig never did the dual cooling air inlets left and right in front of the rear wheels
Funny, my first reaction was "fiero", but then you see it's a real one. Then my next thought was "first time I see a body kit trying real hard to look like a fiero"
This is a fun thread Seems like a good place to ask: is a TR a prerequisite to a happy life? I have a 550 and a manual 430. But I still feel empty inside. I see how much fun all you TR owners are having with your cars and I feel like I'm missing out!
it sure is.... especially when you have the TR in pieces (over 1000 to the platers, many more to powder coating, then wondering how you are going to put everything together again!....but it is all part of the fun ,the challenge , the satisfaction when you have it all back on the road again,
Good luck with your project! And keep a good eye on your baby. So sad what happened to the Daytona in Melbourne recently ;(
Fred ... make a thread of all you are doing ! We like to learn with you all along the re-creation of your dreamcar Testarossa ... Or stick to this TR talks of course ... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I need to join you I was thinking this would be a good 4-car lineup for me and for anyone else who is Ferrari-addicted: Car 1: Boxer, TR or 512TR Car 2: 550 or 575 Car 3: 599 or F12 Car 4: 360, 430 or 458 That covers a lot of bases with a 4 car set. It provides both 8 and 12 cylinder mid-engine configurations. And it covers classic, near-classic and modern 12 cylinder F cars. I'm halfway there now, just need to save more money...
I have virtually the same exact list, except that I'm sure Car 1 is a TR (preferably black) and I've combined cars 2-3 on your list into just one front-engine v-12. I'm only 1/3 of the way there.
