My stupid stuff goes way way back. In fact I spent the last couple of weeks building a stupid stuff shrine against a wall in my garage. The block from my Grandfathers Model T truck, a complete vintage Jag mark 11 engine, a set of old SU carbs, old wheels and hubcaps, and an assortment of old oil cans, tools, etc.

Now I need to clean and set up my collection of stupid Bandai tin cars. While moving stuff I found an old 250 GTE brochure hand made up by Chinetti for a customer with a letter signed by him. I had no idea I even had it or where it came from.

Well you start with a collection of a few hundred die cast cars, ALL Ferrari, then you need a five section bookcase to match.
The good news is all your rock and roll LPs can go in the bottom.

Add to that a few years of collecting the F1 crew uniforms, jackets, hats and so forth.

You need a few Ferrari ties, the real Factory ones and few from the Mille Miglia, and Pebble Beach.....

You can spend a few $$$$ on books, and add them to the bookcase.

Puma Speed Cat driving shoes (but not the RED ones!!)..

I have a life sized prancing horse sculpture on the patio, my gf adopted it!
    That's a good start.....

There are two versions (North American)...as they added a microswitch under the driver's seat in 1977, to shut off the fuel pump, on the days you crash land upside down....

Your Euro wiring may not have this???

I have the 1977 Owner's manual insert, that folds out big, to show that switch, if that will help you???

It's ALL stupid! You need a good practical car like a Chevrolet and don't waste your money on "toys" of any kind!
I gave up on Alfa Romeos in 1985 and bought a reliable Chevrolet right after I broke up with my fiancé. I stopped going to bars, put my nose to the grindstone working to get a promotion and started acting responsible and mature. It was the most miserable two years of my life!
I got rid of my Chevy and bought an Alfa GTV-6, changed jobs and went an found my old fiancé. We celebrated 20 years of marriage in September, we have 14 Italian sports cars, a 17 year old daughter who has her own Alfa and everyone who sees us together says we are always laughing and having fun. My wife buys me toys cars, F1 pop-up books and I have the front yard filled with trailer park plastic flamingos for valentines day. Wasting money is like wasting life, it is a one time ride if you aren't going to have fun and enjoy yourself why bother...

I'm sorry to say that I've read your post a few times and still failed to see your logic there.

People getting small/minor and relatively inexpensive gadgets that's related to our beloved 3x8s are stupid act and a waste while your 14 sports cars are not?

Mature people like your good self on board here and the "money wasting" that's been discussed here seems to be "hobby" more than the "waste" in the conventional sense.

I actually got it, what he wanted to say. People here called me stupid generally, since I purchased such an italian crap car and not a reasonable Mercedes or something like that.
I think what he wanted to say, is, spending money on things which do not increase lust for life is really stupid.

    Best Regards

So why the 14 sports cars? Life without hobby has no lust. Just weird comment on such a thread in this forum. Never mind...

I got it. He's saying being sensible is boring. Spend your money, have fun and enjoy life is the message I think.

Since these are his hobby and he's having fun with it. Most people I know, would say, having 14 sports cars is not just stupid, it's nuts.

Some live in homes for millions of Euros, using 3 of their 15 rooms, spending crazy money for heating costs during winter and paying huge property tax. And the huge estate has a narrow and bald room, called garage for one or max. two cars. ( I must not forget, that a garage over is normally a hole for storing a car. Not to compare with the significance of a 'car living room', what WE love )
That's nuts for me, since that's no hobby, but just a status symbol.

I think his comment was just questioning the definition of 'stupid'.
Anyway; Maybe the headline of this thread was chosen a little bit inapt.

    Best Regards
    Martin

I did buy the "Magnum" Jungle Birds shirt. Not the current production one that you can buy but an actual vintage one from the '80's. The cut is different on the older shirts. Actually not as good for wearing today as the shirt tails are shorter as the style in the '80's was to wear them tucked in. Its almost too short for wearing today with the style being untucked.

    Do what I did.

Buy about 20-25 of them and She'll NEVER NOTICE one more.

I have about 2 shelves 3 feet across, of nothing but "blue binders."

For my garage, I recently bought (eBay) one of those Rick McBride 'Decisions, Decisions' posters (female form, wine bottle, Ferrari 308). Total foolish acquisition, but I have always wanted a copy.
