He fell asleep at the wheel imho. Thank god no one got hurt and he has the money to pay the damages. In the grand scheme of things this is a non-story. Happens again then there may be other problems.

 

Or he was using his smart phone...Would not be the first to crash because of it. I remember that Schumacher had a crash during his Benetton years as he was looking at the radio functions rather than the road. Not really world news...

To name but a few. In the end, no one was hurt and he's owning up to his mistake. Can't see anything wrong with that and he wasn't drinking that night. All the partying caught up to him, it happens. He's already won the title so again what's the problem?

BTW, it's pretty unprofessional to get wasted during the race after falling out of it in plain view of the public. But it's cool cause it's Kimi, right?

The point is there wasn't three pages dedicated to Kimi's looking like a drunken wanker when he did it but there's already three and counting for this which is pretty much nothing. Get it now?

Call BS all you want. The yacht incident happened in 2006 or earlier, look at any of the threads of back then (even 2007 etc), there's barely any activity. I searched for a bit and struggled to find any pre 2007 f1 race/quali threads that had 50+ replies.

I'm first to admit that LH catches more flak than any other driver on the current F1 grid. there are several reasons for that:

1) he's the current F1 champ
2) he drives for another team
3) he is quite controversial in what he does. Dumb statements, flashy, crashy and outspoken
4) His fans. They are a contributing factor with their relentless defense of their king, absolutely idiotic statements (a particular favorite of mine was that he drove a good hungary GP this year ). They fight ANY comment that doesn't praise him, they think EVERYTHING is an attack on his Eltonness and any dislike for him must mean the commenter doesn't rate Hamilton.

The discussion had already gone off topic debating supercars and engines, it's just a shame that the Elton Defense Committee had to attack again.

You weren't around back then. We'd get 20 pages if anyone dared say anything negative about MS. The forum isn't any bigger now than it was back then, I can assure you. More active, maybe. There wasn't much to talk about with F1 being as boring as it was from 2010 to 2013.
