Hi, has anyone done this? are the sub frames on a GTB and a GTO the same, the part number is the same, but when you look at the headers it looks like they would need some extra clearance, anyone able to take some photos of the area where the 6 into one collector goes past the subframe, as it looks like a tight fit, any and all help on this would be much appreciated, I can say they bolt straight on the heads and look stunning so that side of things looks fine, its getting them in there that looks a little tricky
Thanks for reading this and any help you can offer
    Kind Regards
    Todd

I think to replace the exhaust manifolds it is an engine out job. It certainly is on the Maserati. I would also check the compatibility of the lamdas/02 sensors and if required have a professional tech flash the ECU to tell the car it is running without pre cats.

It's the same person as OP ;).

GTO headers don't bolt directly to the GTB exhaust IIRC. Since subframe is same part number, I'd be highly surprised the subframe is different.

yes sorry that is me , and i do have the complete exhaust system form front to rear, and yes it does require an additional O2 sensor, but this is easy to fit, i was just wondering if anybody else has already done it, so as to get a head start, and avoid reinventing the wheel, so to speak

    Hi kiwifaza,
yes is possible, GTO headers are able to fitting on 599 standard but ... there are same problems that i had during the developing of my +6-1 headers for 575..
599 have 4 upstream lambdas and 4 downstream lambdas, GTO have half of lambdas, you have two way:
1 - modify the ECUs in order to engine run with half lambdas like the GTO.
2- add two lambdas for each headers, but in this case the original lamda location of GTO is no able to run, you need to plugged and weld two threaded plugs for upstream lambda and one for downstream lambda.

note: 599 GTO heder price is 5424 USD for each ...

In italy i not found one owner of 599, otherwise i did a 6-1 headers for this car, but i'm optimist!
note: 599 GTO header price is 5424 USD for each one.

I hope i'm clear, and help you.

    Regards

    Fabio

P.S. : i advised you about this headers on the post 42 of your other thread ...

ok, so here is the answer, They DO fit,but its not quite that simple, there are some tricks to watch out for,on top of purchasing the system, you need, the heat shrouds, and they are expensive,as in ouch, also the EGR pipes and mounting brackets, which are cheap, then the clearance between the primary cat at the side of the support bracket is just a shave to close for comfort, but easily fixed, then the rear silencer box`s are mounted 45mm shorter than the gtb ,also an easy fix,, so in short its doable but not a Sunday morning job over a coffee or two

PS going to post some pics etc on my original post (599 Project/Track day car)
