pull rod vs push rod again?! i thought we've moved beyond this already...
Not that I recall...... It's been an ongoing debate for years, but I don't think we ever really reached any "conclusions". [Did we? With apologies if I missed it.] Cheers, Ian
I (admittedly vaguely now ) recall those articles; IIRC, both hedged their bets pretty well! The Italian dude (? can't recall his name now) did a pretty good YT on why pullrod was advantageous - Aero, no doubt! It's all a compromise. Getting said compromises right is the hard part...... Cheers, Ian
IIRC Allison said at the beginning of this year that he simply didn't have time to implement push rods for this years car and do it right. He did make altercations to how the pull rods are on it now, which seems to have been an improvement over the previous years in any case...
Gotta love English!..... A solitary letter, in this case, "c", changes *everything*! Sorry Bas, no offense of course, but an "altercation" is very, very different to an "alteration". Maybe he did indeed have an altercation with it, resulting in some alterations! Cheers, Ian
You can, in that instance, love French too: both words are the same, for once, and have exactly the same meaning they have in English... Rgds
Well played sarcasm is dangerous around here sometimes, watch out for the cracks in the ice that may appear under your feet.
Don't need to worry about the cracks when it comes to misspelling english words, in my case, all the ice beneath my feet is already gone!!!!
Hate it when that happens! Interesting that they're both the same in French. I have a dear friend from Montreal (staunchly French Canadian, obviously) with the absolutely *sexiest* accent you'll ever here. She can tell you to **** off and make it sound like she's inviting you to bed! I'll have to run these by her..... May even see if I can record it! Cheers, Ian
I think it was my cat but he is a liar (cannot even spell meow correctly) and his typing skills are subpar, tiny paws and all, so I will accept the blame.
Yap, French is a very nice language (i don't know if you ever watched the Matrix saga, but in the second movie, there is a time when a guy (who was playing Monica Belucci's husband role) says exacly the same thing...... Ps: the first girl i ever kissed was french
May have noted this before; Your command of written English *far* exceeds many native speakers round here! I've noticed you even tend the get the "tricky" stuff ("too" -v- "to" etc) right the vast majority of the time. Cheers, Ian
French canadian is a bit awkward though, I remenber people complaining about Gilles, lolo, by the way, i heard an interview with his brother this week, it seems he finaly stoped his carrer, a very funny guy, lovely bloke. Ps: Sorry Isobel, i'm pretty sure you sound like an Angel!!
Ahh ****! I just noticed that too, but figure correcting it now would be cheating! You caught me fair & square - I'm tempted to blame autocorrect, but think I just screwed up! Cheers, Ian
Thanks Ian, somethimes the litle things are easy because you remenber it from school, and i was very good with languages, and i must say, being around here and practicing every day helps a lot......my spoken french is just as good as my english, but i only had 3 years of french, and i never write it, so i would make a lot more spelling mistakes.
